Grateful to meet with the National Brain Tumor Society team. Right now, our nation should be investing in the advancement of brain tumor research, not cutting funding.
🚨🚨🚨Independent analysts just confirmed 13.7 million Americans will lose their health insurance if Republicans get their way with their disastrous budget scheme. We’re not backing down & I will always vote to protect Rhode Islanders’ health care. www.newsweek.com/millions-fac...
Companies like Edesia reflect the best of American values – supporting American farmers, creating jobs, and helping treat malnutrition and famine.    Despite this, Secretary Rubio has not restored their funding.
In Rhode Island, land trusts have already preserved roughly 65,600 acres – that’s equivalent to 49,697 football fields! 🏈   It was a pleasure to meet with the RI Land Trust Alliance to discuss continuing to protect the lands and waters around #RI01 for years to come.🏞️
Thank you to the @pawtucketmarket.bsky.social for hosting my team for mobile casework office hours yesterday. If you couldn't make it out and need help with a federal agency, don't hesitate to reach out: 📞 Call: 401-729-5600 ✉️ Email: AmoOffice@mail.house.gov
Trump’s careless trade war is not sustainable and puts American small businesses last. We cannot allow Trump to irreparably harm our Rhode Island small business community and push our country towards a recession. www.cnbc.com/amp/2025/05/...
Companies like the Illuminated Oven in East Providence rely on importing specialized ingredients for their most popular pastries. These ingredients are now becoming far too expensive for everyday consumers.
The knitting company imports tools and goods from Southeast Asia to sell in Rhode Island. If Trump’s trade chaos continues, this budding company is facing heavy financial losses from orders made before his tariffs were announced.
Beehive Handmade is a fine metalwork crafting company operating in Warren for the past 20 years. Their machines use components no longer made in the U.S. and rely on imports from Canada, China, Peru, & the UK. With no domestic manufacturing alternatives, Trump’s tariffs have them scrambling.
As we close out Small Business Week, I have been hearing from companies across our district worried about rising operating costs from Trump’s reckless trade war. 🧵
Donald Trump’s presidency has failed the American people. His actions have been unserious, unbecoming, and dangerous. Proud to join the Congressional Black Caucus in speaking out and fighting for fairness, justice, and the promise denied to far too many Americans.
After the Trump admin canceled $530,000 in RI funding from the National Endowment of the Humanities Grants, RI Council for the Humanities may have to pause funding for programs that provide civic education, serve veterans, and support historical sites.
Happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek, Rhode Island.📚   ✏️To all the educators who inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and shape the future, thank you for all you do.👏
