Col. Harmon exemplifies leadership in so many ways, from being the first Black person to achieve the rank of colonel in the RI Army National Guard to serving as a Woonsocket City Councilor. And she co-chairs my District Veterans Advisory Committee!
Had a great time in Pawtucket at Slater Park’s Dogapalooza today. Loved seeing Rhode Islanders and their furry friends come out to enjoy music and summer weather!
Republicans’ Big, Ugly Law is an attack on American workers. Trump is jeopardizing over 662,000 clean energy jobs, $565 billion in infrastructure projects across the country, and driving up energy costs for Rhode Islanders.
Play ball! ⚾ Threw out the First Pitch for tonight’s Newport Gulls playoff game at Cardines Field, one of the oldest ball parks in the country! Loved seeing Aquidneck Island come out to support the home team.
The July Jobs Report is out & it’s bleak.    Thanks to Trump's chaotic tariffs & inaction to bring down costs, we're seeing the weakest job growth since the pandemic.    Bottom line: We have to change course — Rhode Islanders cannot afford to live or work in Trump's economy.
NEW: The labor market is worse than previously thought, with the latest data showing the U.S. created about 106,000 total jobs in the past three months, the weakest pace of growth since the onset of the 2020 pandemic.
Had a great time celebrating Peruvian Independence Day with our vibrant Peruvian-American community at Providence City Hall last night!   Thank you to the Andean Cultural Center of RI for organizing this celebration of Peruvian heritage.🇵🇪
Health centers like East Bay Community Action Program serve Rhode Islanders that rely on Medicaid and Medicare every day. But Trump & Republicans are slashing coverage, undercutting our entire health care system. I won’t stop speaking out until we reverse the harms of these treacherous Trump cuts.
The people of Gaza are facing unimaginable suffering as basic necessities like food and water remain out of reach. I’m joining @casten.house.gov in urging Secretary Rubio to expand aid into Gaza and demanding answers on the operations of the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation.
NEWS: I led 92 House Democrats in demanding an investigation into the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation – a private, unqualified U.S.-linked aid organization at the center of the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Medicare and Medicaid were signed into law 60 years ago today – expanding health care for seniors and families. Trump and Republicans are undermining this progress with their Big, Ugly Law that is the biggest cut EVER to Medicaid to pay for the LARGEST tax break for billionaires in our history.
