Community Conversation in #SouthGate underway now! Excited to see you and discuss how Trump cuts to Medicaid, Social Security, & other government services affect real people, in real life— and how @housedemocrats.bsky.social will fight to make sure you & your loved ones get the services you need.
Grateful that Governor Shapiro and his family are safe and unharmed. Thankful that first responders and law enforcement acted quickly to prevent an even worse outcome. Political or anti-Semitic violence of any kind cannot be tolerated in America.
Last night at the Governor’s Residence, we experienced an attack not just on our family, but on the entire Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. This kind of violence has become far too common in our society, and it has to stop.
Today is World Parkinson’s Day.   My dad passed away from Parkinson’s when I was young. So I’m proud to raise awareness & work in Congress to fight this disease for Americans w/ Parkinson’s & their loved ones. We must make sure they get the support and care they need, with the dignity they deserve.
HHS Sec. RFK Jr. refused our demand to a meeting. So E&C @housedemocrats.bsky.social demanded a meeting in person and that he testify before Congress. He needs to answer for the illegal firing of THOUSANDS of workers, ending life-saving research, and pushing an anti-science agenda.
For every $1 earned by white, non-Hispanic men, AANHPI women earn 83¢. Many earn even less. This wage gap for AANHPI women means having less money to support their families in a time when so many hardworking Americans struggle to pay higher costs for essentials from the Trump Tax. #AANHPIEqualPay
Trump’s tariffs are a tax on hardworking American families. Plain and simple. Trump Tax wipes out retirement savings, raising prices on everyday goods, and threatening jobs. Trump Tax hurts ALL Americans – but it’ll hit the people who can least afford it the hardest. www.cnbc.com/2025/04/06/s...
Great to be in San Francisco today for #HandsOff Rally. Americans are energized & mobilized to tell Trump, Musk, & Republicans - Hands Off! Hands Off our social security, Medicare and Medicaid, the environment, courts, ballot boxes, public schools, veterans benefits, and our bodies!
Devastating for so many hardworking Americans. Teachers, nurses, firefighters, & so many others rely on their 401k when they retire. Donald Trump has hurt so many Americans. We’ll pay more for groceries, clothes, cars, & other essential items - as our retirement savings plummet. #TrumpCrash
BREAKING: The Dow plummets 2,000+ points in Friday trading following China's retaliatory tariffs of an additional 34% on all U.S. imports; now down 3,700+ points in past two days. nbcnews.app.link/Ilri4A1hiSb
@HouseDemocrats.bsky.social held a Steering & Policy hearing on Social Security about how the assault on the system delays benefit payments. YOU earned these payments by a lifetime of hard work. Trump, Musk, & Republicans want to steal this money from YOU to give more tax breaks to billionaires.
They also falsely labeled a gay Venezuelan asylum seeker a gang member and deported him to the same inhumane prison. His only "crime"? Seeking safety.   This is cruelty and chaos. Trump’s war on immigrants is a war on families. America deserves better.
Witnessed history tonight. My friend @booker.senate.gov gave a 24+ hour history lesson and fact check to combat the lies and dangerous actions of Trump, Musk, & Republicans in Congress. Sen. Booker showed us what John Lewis’ call for “good trouble” looks like. Democrats will fight for the people.
