🚨TOMORROW: Join my team for traveling office hours! They'll be out in the community to answer your questions about the government shutdown and give you assistance with federal agencies. Details below:
While House Republicans are sitting at home for the fourth week in a row, House Democrats are back in DC and standing united. We won’t give in to this administration hell-bent on ripping healthcare away from working people.
I met with air traffic controllers at Willard Airport in Savoy who are working without pay because of the government shutdown. This shutdown has worsened staffing shortages and created flight delays across the country. Republicans need to come to the table to reach a deal to end this crisis.
We’re demanding that Secretary Collins stop weaponizing this shutdown. By ignoring our requests for casework assistance, you’re not hurting us – you’re hurting America’s veterans and their families.
🚨The Trump administration just decimated the Dept of Ed office in charge of special education. These employees do essential work to ensure that children with disabilities receive the resources they need to succeed in school. They must be reinstated.
As a member of Congress, it’s my honor to nominate #IL13’s best and brightest students to attend our U.S. Service Academies. Applications are open now and close on November 1st. Visit my website to apply today!

I held a roundtable with nursing students and recent graduates at SIUE to discuss how nurses are being impacted by cuts to rural healthcare. As I fight back against these cuts in Congress, it’s critical to listen to the first-hand experiences of our frontline healthcare workers.
My constituents have already been getting notices that their monthly health insurance bills are going to double. Why? Because Republicans refuse to extend critical ACA tax credits.
I want to hear from you: how much are your costs going to go up? budzinski.house.gov/posts/seekin...
Congress awarded this medal to every Rosie back in 2020 and when we found out about Betty’s story, my office worked to secure a physical medal from the U.S. Mint which I presented to her today. I’m so glad we were able to honor this incredible member of our community!
It was an incredible honor to present the Congressional Gold Medal to Collinsville’s own Betty Wrigley. A real-life Rosie the Riveter, this award recognizes Betty’s invaluable contributions to the war effort during WWII and celebrates her role as a trailblazer for generations of women in America.
Today is Indigenous Peoples’ Day, where we honor the history, culture, and contributions of Indigenous peoples who have inhabited the Americas for tens of thousands of years. I stand with Native communities in Illinois and across the country as we work toward a more just and equal future.
After 738 long days, every hostage is finally free. The nightmare for them and their families is finally over.
Today marks a hopeful beginning toward lasting peace in the region.
Laying off federal workers during a government shutdown isn’t just unprecedented – it’s illegal.
This is a move straight from President Trump’s Project 2025 playbook and we’re going to fight back with everything we’ve got.
The ACA tax credits have been life changing. I spoke out about how families in my district would be impacted if Republicans let them expire and allow costs to skyrocket.
We must protect affordable care.
Honored to speak at the @afscme.bsky.social Retiree Council’s annual meeting this morning! I am committed to protecting the promise of Social Security and ensuring that every hardworking American can retire with dignity.
I met with constituents to hear how their costs are increasing because of the Republican healthcare crisis — specifically because of their failure to extend critical ACA tax credits. These impacts are real, they’re devastating, and they’re happening right now. Congress needs to act.
I am hopeful all parties will seize this moment to imagine — and to build — a better future for Israelis, Palestinians, and all people across the Middle East.
This agreement must not simply halt the violence and hunger, but pave the way for a viable two-state solution, the rebuilding of Gaza, and the establishment of governance rooted in peace, stability, and human dignity.
True peace cannot be achieved without an end to the profound suffering of the Palestinian people. Thousands of innocent lives — many of them children — have been lost, and communities devastated.
