House Republicans are trying to take away health care from nearly 14 million Americans and force community clinics to cut services or close. They also want to take away food assistance from kids, seniors, and veterans. @levin.house.gov explains more in today’s Democratic Daily Download.
It is imperative that we address our nation's deep deficits and debt and ensure Americans do not continue to bear the brunt of this administration's fiscal irresponsibility. Let us keep working to rebuild the economic strength & stability of our country.
Sadly, Republicans remain focused on forcing through their "big, beautiful bill" that rips health care coverage away from millions of Americans and explodes the national debt in order to pass their massive tax cuts for the wealthiest individuals.
This shift comes as no surprise as the Trump Administration's trade & tax policies will add trillions to our debt and slow our economy according to a multitude of warnings from analysts and experts.
I was saddened to learn of my good friend & former President Joe Biden's cancer diagnosis. Joe has persevered through the many challenges, and I know he'll continue to do so as he endures this battle. I extend my support to the Biden family and pray for a full recovery.

The GOP Tax Scam takes health care away from nearly 14 million Americans, including kicking more than 8 million people off Medicaid. On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @degette.house.gov explains how we are fighting to stop this disastrous bill.
The #ADA was all about access. Today, that includes the internet. I joined with Representative Pete Sessions to introduce the Websites and Software Applications Accessibility Act to build on the ADA and remove digital barriers for individuals with disabilities.
Who is even running HHS? Secretary Kennedy or Elon Musk? It is clear that the Trump Administration is making decisions to appease billionaires with little consideration of the consequences these cuts are having on the American people.
The Federal Trade Commission needs to be loyal to the country & the oath that we take to the Constitution, not to any individual or administration. I will continue working to ensure the FTC remains nonpartisan & is able to maintain the public's trust & its credibility.
Trump's funding cuts to the U.S. Department of Labor does little to support our workers and ought to concern us all. Watch @democrats-appropriations.house.gov as we push against the Trump Administration's budget that would eliminate job training and critical protections for the nation's workforce.
The FTC is essential to promoting fair competition and protecting American consumers from scam calls, fraud, and unfair business practices. Tune in now as I join @democrats-appropriations.house.gov to discuss funding for the agency to continue its vital, nonpartisan work. youtu.be/0NZxkvYaVuk
I thank @lynch.house.gov for convening colleagues and allies to discuss how we can combat the Trump Admin's attacks on federal employees. I will always stand with federal employees and against the continued efforts to demean and vilify their service to the American people.
I join to mourn the loss of my friend, former Senator Kit Bond. Kit was a skilled legislator who was never afraid to work across the aisle or buck his own party to deliver results for Missourians and the American people. My prayers are with his loved ones.
The Trump Administration has left our families less safe, and our government less transparent than when they took office. As @democrats-appropriations.house.gov demand answers from top Trump officials this week, I am bringing these stories of federal employees who were wrongly treated:
