Gender affirming care saves lives.
Alana and her daughter’s story is a testament to the transformative power of acceptance and appropriate medical care. Every child — trans or otherwise— deserves that.
Happy Pride Month!
As Trump continues to promote hate, here is my message to the LGBTQIA+ community: Your existence, your rights, your contributions, your struggles, and your resilience will never be erased.
I will ALWAYS fight for and celebrate your rights, safety and dignity.
Former FTC Chair Lina Khan breaks down why monopolies and corporate concentration are bad for all of us.

Last night, I held a packed town hall where hundreds came out to engage in our democracy!
I’m so proud to represent a community that is always ready to come together, to make their voices heard & to push for what is right. Thanks to all who joined, and stay tuned for our next one!
While this outcome from the Supreme Court – which allows a Tennessee ban on gender affirming care to stand — is incredibly disappointing, I will never stop fighting for trans communities across this country. 🏳️⚧️

Today, I visited the Denise Louie Education Center, an early learning center that provides support services for families and children.
As Trump works to defund education across the country, I’m working to support places like Denise Louie and the good they do for our communities.
These Medicaid cuts will be felt in EVERY single district — red, blue, and purple — as people lose health care and rural clinics are forced to close.
HANDS OFF OUR MEDICAID.
Suggested reading for all Republicans in Congress:
Adding red tape to Medicaid is ineffective, costly, and takes health care away from people who need it.

This Pride Month, I’d like to take a moment to highlight Jaelynn Scott, Executive Director of Lavender Rights Project!
Jaelynn is a fierce advocate for racial justice and LGBT inclusion in her work at LRP, while providing leadership development for faith and nonprofit organizations.
Have you ever wondered why eggs are so expensive? The answer is massive corporations' price gouging. Listen to my full breakdown:
Trans people account for less than one half of 1% of the American population.
But Republicans are mounting a cruel campaign of misinformation, fear-mongering, and bullying so they can hold on to power.
Private equity and corporate control in health care means higher costs and worse outcomes, so this is a great step in the right direction.
Now it’s time to take federal action. Congress needs to pass my Health Over Wealth Act with @SenMarkey.

Republicans are trying to screw over poor and working people so they can give trillions of dollars in tax breaks to the richest 1%.
Kicking 16 million Americans off health care for tax cuts for billionaires? HANDS OFF.
Republicans claim that gender affirming care causes “irreversible psychological damage.”
You know what ACTUALLY causes “irreversible psychological damage” to kids?
Cutting $300 billion from nutrition assistance programs and ripping immigrant kids away from their parents.
After Shawn Yim’s tragic death, I’m glad to know King County Metro is taking the necessary steps to keep our bus drivers safe and secure on the job.

Through Republicans’ budget bill, Big Oil is trying to destroy clean energy jobs and get another tax break on the backs of poor and working Americans.
But we are ready to stand up and fight back to protect our families and our climate.
Every one of us must condemn political violence that threatens everything our democracy stands for.
The assassination of a MN state lawmaker and her husband, and the attempted assassination of another lawmaker is absolutely horrific and unacceptable. My heart goes out to their families, the communities they represent, and all of MN.
ICE raids at domestic violence shelters abandon survivors of abuse and embolden their attackers.
I’ve introduced legislation to block ICE enforcement at domestic violence shelters and similarly sensitive locations. Congress must pass it now. www.motherjones.com/politics/202...
I joined @governorferguson.bsky.social and other elected leaders in WA to let Trump know we are united and ready to stand up for free speech.
As he continues to promote an authoritarian, militarized state, we are going to show him what peaceful protest and democracy look like.
