🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
The ITC voted to investigate whether China is cheating the system and stifling domestic solar panel manufacturing here in NW Ohio. As the home of the domestic Solar manufacturing industry, this is a major win for our hometown companies.
I will continue to work together with colleagues from both sides of the aisle to find commonsense solutions that make our children, our families, and our communities safer.
Our bill also provides de-escalation training for local education agencies and guidance to families on the importance of safe storage, while expanding SchoolSafety.gov on social media to reach a wider audience and further spread information to those who need it most.
The legislation will help ensure children do not have unsupervised access to firearms or the ability to take them without knowledge of an adult.
The IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act creates a nonrefundable tax credit of $300 to incentivize parents and guardians to purchase firearm safety devices including a gun safe, storage item, or gun lock to improve gun safety at home.
🧵On #NationalGunViolenceAwarenessDay we wear orange to bring awareness to the scourge of gun violence. With firearms now the leading cause of death for American children—I introduced the IMPROVE Safety for Schools Act with Congressman John James to promote gun safety in schools for families.
Joined American Humane, and Carson Kressley to celebrate Hero Dogs this week. Honored to meet retired United States Air Force Sergeant Micah Jones and Summer, a retired explosives-detection dog deployed to Afghanistan and Iraq with the Marine Corps before joining the Amtrak Police Department.
Today, we gratefully remember and honor those who served and sacrificed for the cause of freedom and Liberty for the entire world. We call them the Greatest Generation, and I add — the most unselfish generation. We live in their debt each and every day.
Met with Secretary of Vet Affairs to urge the Dept. of Vet Affairs to expand services and care for our NW Ohio veterans. I have worked to bring new veterans health clinics to our region and provide better care for those who defended Liberty. Honored to continue to fight for those who fought for us.
Following the Norfolk Southern derailment, East Palestine faced a crisis that shook the community to its core. Alongside Rep. Dave Joyce I introduced the East Palestine Health Impact Monitoring Act to reaffirm our commitment to their well-being, ensuring they are not left behind.
America needs partisan extremists in Washington to come to the table and work across the aisle to stop the flow of illicit drugs like fentanyl and illegal activity from traversing our borders. The President’s actions are an interim step forward.
This is a first step in the right direction, but we must do more to secure our borders. I am ready to work with both Republicans and Democrats to do what it takes to secure the border and stop the flow of drugs into the United States.
So honored to help Williams County open the new Lincoln Park Inclusive Playground in Bryan, Ohio. It was invigorating to see so many happy and smiling faces as we opened up this new gathering place that ensures equal access for all.
Great to meet with Wendi Huntley, President and CEO of Connecting Kids to Meals. Happy to discuss ways we can ensure that every child in NW Ohio has access to healthy and nutritious meals and that none go hungry.
Wonderful to attend the Genoa Homecoming Parade last evening. Great to see so many friendly faces out enjoying the event.
🚨 Important news for tax filers in NW Ohio and nationwide! Thanks to our collective efforts, the IRS has made Direct File permanent—providing a free, easy, and public tax filing option.
As co-sponsor of the ACP Extension Act, I am outraged Speaker Johnson is holding this legislation hostage. More than 74,000 households in NW Ohio use the Affordable Connectivity Program. Cuts will negatively impact our seniors, children, families, veterans, and small businesses.
Great to visit 4th and 5th graders from Woodlands Elementary School in Huron, Ohio. Thank you to all of these young artists for the beautiful portraits and your well prepared questions. I can say with certainty that with such bright and engaged youth, our future is in good hands.
Honored to recognize American Legion Toledo Post 335 with a flag flown over our US Capitol to mark 100 years of this important local gathering place for those who honorably served our nation.
During #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth, we prioritize mental health and support those in need. If you are struggling, know you are not alone—resources are available Across NW Ohio—and you can always get help by dialing 988. Together, we create a community where no one feels alone. 💚
