We join other communities nationwide as we gather across Ohio's 9th Congressional District this Memorial Day. Let us honor and reflect on the brave men and women who dedicated their lives and made the ultimate sacrifice for freedom and liberty in service to these United States.
Celebrated the 20th anniversary of the National World War II Memorial with a lifting tribute to the legacy of the Greatest Generation. To date, more than 100 million have visited the National WW II Memorial since its opening. Humbled to receive the Brigadier General Charles E. McGee UNITY Award.
Glass City Metropark recently received the Innovation Award for park design from NRPA! This is a shining example of what can be achieved when our community “Thinks Big.” With nearly 500,000 visitors since opening, it’s clear this park is a treasured asset for our future. 🌳
The bipartisan REPO Act signed into law April 24, grants the President the authority to seize Russian assets frozen in the US and transfer them to Ukraine for its reconstruction. The time to act is now. Let us show the world we stand resolute against Putin's aggression and tyranny.
Shared the inspiring story of Antrone Juice Williams, a remarkable individual from Lucas County, Ohio. His achievements are a beacon of hope for those living with physical challenges, and a powerful reminder that our circumstances do not define us — our spirit and determination do.
Congress passed the #PACTAct to ensure veterans affected by toxic substances the get care and benefits they deserve. To date 1 million+ claims are approved. This is a fitting tribute to the legacy of Ohio’s Sergeant First Class Heath Robinson for whom the legislation was named.
The Inflation Reduction Act is already paying huge dividends. Domestic energy independence begins right here in NW Ohio, and when we “Think Big” together, we can transform our local economy, attract major investments from industry, agriculture, and create good paying jobs.
I often say — Want to help the future? Plant a tree. 🌳 🌲 🌴 Yesterday I joined the Woodlawn Arboretum for a tree planting as part of their new Native Tree Grove dedicated on April 23, ahead of Arbor Day 2024. Thanks to all who came out, grabbed a shovel, and did their part.
Convened representatives from the White House, Departments of Energy and Treasury at the Toledo Lucas County Public Library for an important discussion about benefits available through the Inflation Reduction Act. Thanks to all NW Ohio municipalities, local entities, and businesses for joining.
Great to join Juniors taking part in Model Congress at Anthony Wayne High School in Whitehouse, Ohio. Glad to discuss our work in Congress, career paths to public service, and the hundreds of millions in federal investments we have brought back to NW Ohio this year alone.
Great Lakes Spring has sprung! Beautiful flowers from Maumee Valley Growers along Lake Erie’s abundant, freshwater South Coast. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America!
Thrilled to see the Children’s Theatre Workshop Toledo receive a $20,000 award from the NEA. This will support the theatre’s in-school and after-school education programs in partnership with Toledo Public and Washington Local Schools — which are the only theatre programs in these local schools.
According to Toledo Lucas County Public Library we are only two weeks away from the start of the 100th year of Summer Read — check out this tracker from 1965. Do you have past Summer Read items? Share them here:
Alongside Congresswoman Jen Kiggans, I recently introduced the bipartisan Care for Military Kids Act. Our legislation aims to ensure servicemembers can maintain critical health care coverage and medical services for their children and families no matter where their service takes them.
Yesterday, I introduced a bipartisan resolution with Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, Rep. Grace Napolitano, and Rep. Chris Smith designating May 15th as National Senior Fraud Awareness Day. In 2023 alone, individuals over 60 reported losses totaling nearly $2 Billion from fraud spanning all 50 states.
