Keeping our commitment to an academic Medical Center, proud to bring home $500,000 for the University of Toledo to establish a mobile medical unit. Rolling medical offices can provide a variety of health care services, often to medically underserved and rural areas and hard to reach individuals.
Yesterday I joined the House Appropriations visit to the Port of Baltimore to survey damage from the Key Bridge collapse. This is the most active port on the eastern seaboard with goods flowing in and out of from 27 states including Ohio, with everything from agriculture to automobiles.
The Contributions of Poles to America from 1776 to the present are legendary. As Polish Constitution Day approaches, our bipartisan House Polish Caucus has introduced a resolution recognizing the 105th Anniversary of US-Polish diplomatic relations which began on this day in 1919.
Reflecting on #InternationalWorkersDay, I'm filled with immense pride and gratitude for the hardworking individuals who make our communities thrive. Your dedication and passion inspire me every day. Let's continue to stand together for fair treatment and dignity in the workplace.
I am calling on middle and high school students in NW Ohio and our 9th district to participate in developing an “app” to improve someone’s daily life. Please contact our office at 419-259-7500 or visit CongressionalAppChallenge.us for more information. #Congress4CS #HouseOfCode
STEM education opportunities are essential for our youth to develop skills that will prepare them for an ever changing workforce. I support computer sciences, STEM, and coding curriculum, which is why I encourage you to enroll in the 2024 Congressional App Challenge! #Congress4CS #HouseOfCode
Humbled to recognize the life of towering transformational leader, Dr. Crystal Ellis. Born in 1933, he faced discrimination, but was determined to overcome it. He became the first African-American to play basketball at BGSU and to serve as Toledo Public Schools Superintendent.
The #InflationReductionAct funded the IRS to find wealthy tax evaders. As of January, IRS recovered $500 Million—and could collect $561 Billion over the life of the law. Funding the IRS makes the wealthy pay what they owe, building the economy from the bottom up and middle out.
Enjoyed celebrating the reopening of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Thanks to Councilman George Sarantou and members of the Greek-American community for the warm welcome.
Honored to be with the Lou Diamond Detachment Marine Corps League Toledo for its Landing Party Breakfast. We are grateful to each and every one of you for your service. Semper Fidelis.
Joined Keep Toledo/Lucas County Beautiful and Ironwood Neighbors for an #ArborDay tree planting at Ironwood Community Garden. Glad to share the joy of gardening and growing. Federal investment of $6.1 Million for #RETREEToledo will allow us to plant 10,000 trees across our city.
Honor Flights were created to help veterans of WWII visit the National Memorial to their service in the battle for Liberty over tyranny. It is an honor to be a part of that continued tradition and to ensure ALL veterans have a way to visit.
The previous Administration’s repeal of net neutrality was an anti-consumer, partisan political attack that put corporate interests over consumers. The FCC’s move today to reverse that decision and to protect the open internet is a win for all Americans.
Donald’s strength of purpose inspires us to carry forward no matter how heavy the burden. Surely, his strong, kind soul will rest among the righteous who love their neighbor, “do what is right, love mercy, and walk humbly with the Lord.”
Just these past two months, he gave voice to improving housing across America, uplifting Congress’ commitment to American families, recognizing the longest serving President of St. Peter’s University in Jersey City, and honoring a local Eagle Scout.
His son Donald followed suit in his daily work, serving the people of Newark and across New Jersey’s 10th District, speaking out forcefully on concerns of urban America, the people and places needing to be uplifted so every life has full dignity.
There too he leaned in hard to meet with struggling people, often resting in sleeping bags on rough terrain, with the goal of stemming frequent violence to create a better future for the people of that continent.
