He was a measured, compassionate, indefatigable, insightful man, and very hard-working Member of the US House. He bore his chronic health challenges with such dignity and resolve. He never stopped serving in his duty to his constituents.

Caleb Kowalski is a 7th grader at Put-In-Bay Middle School. When he needed a project for his school science fair, he turned to nearby Lake Erie for inspiration. He went on to win the Northwest Ohio Science and Engineering Fair for his project focusing on combatting algal blooms.
This year, 16 cities from across our continent competed for the title of North America's Strongest Town. That title came back home to America's Heartland in the Great Lakes Region. The winner was Maumee, Ohio taking the title over Norfolk, Nebraska. NW Ohio couldn't be prouder.
