The reports of 100+ civilians killed and hundreds more injured while seeking food and humanitarian aid in Northern Gaza are horrific. I implore the State Department and Biden Administration to demand a humanitarian pause and promptly get a full and clear report on this tragedy.
As a lifelong champion for our Great Lakes, I always ensure that my work in Congress will protect our environment and our fresh water kingdom for years and generations to come.
Thank you to the volunteers and leadership team at the Ability Center for your hospitality. Our discussions about how services impact our northwest Ohio community and completing the service dog obstacle course with Raven were among the highlights of my week!
Great visit with students, faculty, and staff at Terra State Community College. My work in DC to help establish the National Machinery Advanced CNC Lab is paying huge dividends to help prepare Northwest Ohioans for the workforce.
Good to be in Sandusky County and Gibsonburg to speak with students studying government, pay my respects at the 9/11 Memorial, and discuss priorities with members of local government. Thank you to Gibsonburg for the warm welcome, friendly conversations, and for your time.

Pleased to announce our 9th District high school students from across NW Ohio that I had the privilege to nominate for placement in our United States Service Academies.
For 2 years, the world has witnessed a sovereign nation—the poorest in Europe—fight for its precious Liberty against the 3rd largest military in the world. Today to the brave Ukrainians standing on the line for Liberty I say “freedom means never surrender.”
BIG NEWS: Yesterday, I announced homegrown NW Ohio aerospace company SierraLobo has received a major $282 Million award from NASA to develop new and existing technologies to advance space flight missions in low Earth orbit, to the moon, Mars, and beyond.
2/3 or nearly $40 Billion in foreign aid for Ukraine would actually go to American factories spread out across our country. This includes plants from Lima, OH, to Scranton, PA. What America makes and grows, makes and grows America while helping our allies.
“Congresswoman, why is there no memorial for the veterans of World War II?”
This question began a 17 year quest to build the Memorial — now 20 years since it was dedicated, it's time to preserve the National WWII Memorial for generations to come.
NEWS: Ohio will receive $210 Million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to update essential drinking water and wastewater infrastructure and replace lead service lines.
Everyone should be able to trust the water from the tap.

Today Congressman Mike Quigley, Congressman Jim Costa, and I issued a joint statement calling on Speaker Mike Johnson to call the House of Representatives back into session to vote on critical aid for Ukraine.
With the potential for Egypt to receive Gazan refugees, this proposal should be considered immediately at the UN. Perhaps it can lead to a broader negotiated settlement I have advocated for which would include a 2 State Solution and a Gaza Protectorate.
The proposal by President Biden’s Administration to seek a diplomatic path through the UN to achieve a pause in Israel’s intended strike in Rafah is a worthy objective.
I want to wish everyone in NW Ohio and across our nation a Happy Presidents Day — today we celebrate the legacy and impact American Presidents have had on our great nation.
As the Congressional Advocate for Alexei Navalny's wrongful detention case under the Tom Lantos Human Rights Commission’s Defending Freedoms Project, my full statement on his reported death at the hands of Vladimir Putin's Russian state:

Thank you again to the co-chairs of the Great Lakes Taskforce (@repmarcykaptur.bsky.social, Debbie Dingell, Bill Huizenga, and David Joyce) for advocating for $450 million for the Great Lakes Restoration Initiative!

Thank you to Rep. Troy Carter and Rep. Garret Graves for sending a little taste of New Orleans, the King Cake is greatly appreciated on this Fat Tuesday. Laissez Le Bon Temps Rouler!
We’ve lost too many of our finest service members at a young age during routine training missions. Something is not functioning, and we need to identify and address the root causes to prevent future tragedies. I stand ready to work with anyone willing to address these issues.
