When it comes to choosing whether to help working Americans or throw cash at billionaires—you can bet Republicans will choose the billionaires every time. That's why they're pushing to slash Medicaid & rip the rug out from under the 1.8 million people in WA state who rely on it.
15 years ago, Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act to expand health care for millions. And we keep working to make health care affordable & expand access. The Republican health care plan has been—and continues to be—tax cuts for billionaires and good luck to everyone else.
Spoken like a true multi-millionaire. Trump's Treasury Secretary is wildly out of touch. Most middle-class families would much rather have lower prices at the grocery store than pay higher prices for just about everything because of Trump's nonsensical tariffs.
Trump’s Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said this today: “Access to cheap goods is not the essence of the American Dream” Bessent, who is worth $700 million, has been criticized by MAGA activists for this comment.
The Republican policy on Social Security is to create so much red tape for you that it's harder to get the benefits you've paid into your entire career. Meanwhile, they'll keep lying about fraud and stealing from you to pass trillions in tax cuts for billionaires.
YOUR retirement accounts are taking a hit all because Donald Trump is picking fights with Canada and Mexico. The Trump tariffs have nothing to do with sound policy that benefits the American people and everything to do with Trump's ego.
Trump is going to create chaos for borrowers & students by breaking government like an angry toddler. This is a clear violation of education & appropriations law. To say nothing of his plans to cut SBA staff by over 40% while asking them to now manage ALL federal student loans.
Trump announces that the Small Business Administration will immediately handle all federal student loans, and RFK Jr is now in charge of "handling special needs and all of the nutrition programs and everything else."
Trump & Elon are destroying public schools to enrich themselves. But the decisions we make in education today will set a course for our children and our country for years to come—and I will ALWAYS fight to support every student and give them as bright a future as possible.
I had the honor of working with Ralph Munro as he worked to eradicate polio worldwide. From championing disability rights to helping Vietnamese refugees, he made WA state better. He was a true public servant. My thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
Elon & DOGE are playing politics with YOUR Social Security, and they do not care if you get YOUR money. We are talking about people's livelihoods, and the Trump administration is threatening to shut down the Social Security Administration to make a statement.
For most Americans, not getting their Social Security check would mean not being able to afford rent, groceries, their medication—or all three! But a billionaire cabinet secretary is saying if you complain about not getting the benefits you've EARNED, you're a fraudster.
Trump's EO will make it harder for students to get help with financial aid, jeopardize funding schools and families count on, & make it easier for predatory businesses to rip students off. Trump, Musk, and McMahon’s goal is clear: destroy public schools and enrich themselves.
Absolutely no one is asking for three out-of-touch billionaires to rip apart the Department of Education over some deranged far-right culture war. Trump knows he can't abolish Ed without Congress—but by firing all the staff and smashing it to pieces, he's hoping for the same, devastating result.
A Republican government of the billionaires, for the billionaires, by the billionaires. The most corrupt administration in American history and it’s not even close.
On Jesse Watters’ show, Howard Lutnick, the U.S. Secretary of Commerce, tells viewers they should buy Tesla stock. “I think if you want to learn something on this show tonight, buy Tesla. It’s unbelievable that this guy’s stock is this cheap. It’ll never be this cheap again.”
Trump & Musk took a wrecking ball to the Dept of Education. I was in Shoreline to talk about what it could mean for YOU: school districts having to lay off teachers, students & families unable to get help with financial aid, & even local tax rates going UP. Keep speaking up for public schools.
Senator Murray is center frame, sitting at a table talking. There are pictures drawn by school-age kids on the white brick wall behind her.
I was at Shoreline Community College with parents and teachers to sound the alarm on Trump's war on public education. These billionaires have fired half of the Dept of Education's staff—this will mean serious consequences for kids with disabilities, our public schools, & programs like Pell Grants.
Senator Murray is center frame, sitting at a brown u-shaped table. There are two women seated on each side of her. The background is a white brick wall with pictures made by school children, a map, and the American and Washington state flags.
Elon & DOGE are cutting Social Security phone services, reducing staff, & closing offices.   Making it harder for seniors & disabled Americans to get their benefits will keep YOU from getting the Social Security you're owed. All while they push for more tax cuts for billionaires.
Don't forget: Trump is ripping away funding that helps schools feed kids, all while he demands massive tax cuts for billionaires. He is literally stealing from the mouths of hungry children while working to shovel more cash into the pockets of the richest people in the world.
From weather forecasts to disaster response, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration does work that is absolutely foundational to our safety, economy, & everyday lives. Trump & Elon's mass firings at NOAA are putting this work—and all of our lives and livelihoods—at risk.
VA research is THE reason we have all kinds of medical breakthroughs, from the pacemaker to the nicotine patch. Veterans like Shawn know the value of VA research and how it saves lives, but Trump and Elon are decimating this work and firing VA researchers in droves.
