In Washington state, our 4th and 5th Congressional Districts—the only two represented by Republicans—have the highest proportions of people who rely on Medicaid! They will be hit hardest if Republicans succeed in their plan to dramatically slash Medicaid.

Good to meet with @housedemocrats.wa.gov & WA Senate Democrats in Olympia today. Trump & Elon's illegal power grab must be met with fierce resistance at every level of government. Democrats must show that we are the party that will build a stronger economy and protect your fundamental rights.

Make no mistake: Medicaid saves lives. I was with @repemilyrandall.bsky.social, State Senator Marcus Riccelli & others in Olympia to highlight how devastating it would be for rural communities, seniors, and children if Republicans go through with their plan to slash Medicaid funding.
I was in Olympia today to sound the alarm on Republicans' all-out assault on Medicaid that will cut Americans off of their health care, force rural hospitals to close their doors, & blow a massive hole in WA states' budget—all to line the pockets of their billionaire buddies.

Future is an Army veteran who did mission-critical work at VA Puget Sound until she was abruptly fired for no reason by Trump & Elon. She shared how disheartening it is to hear the Trump administration smear veterans & VA employees as unfit. Our veterans deserve better.
With Elon in charge, SSA clawed back $5,201 from an 82-year-old constituent of mine, Ned, who was falsely labeled as dead. Ned struggled to correct this mistake because Elon is firing SSA staff and shuttering offices. This is real waste, fraud, and abuse—thanks to Republicans.
Congresswoman Nita Lowey was a trailblazer. A tough-as-nails negotiator & the first woman to chair the House Appropriations Committee. My heart goes out to her family and loved ones. Rep. Lowey leaves behind an unforgettable legacy: a fighter for working people & women's rights.
Shawn works to support our veterans & their families in WA state. Trump & Musk's funding freeze put his work on pause—cutting veterans off from lifesaving mental health resources. Now, the mass firings at VA are making it even harder for vets to get the care they were promised.
When your mail is delayed, your medications arrive late, or your packages get lost—remember it’s because two billionaires decided to fire thousands of mail carriers and cut billions in essential funding for USPS for NO reason except to break government & enrich themselves.
I voted NO on House Republicans' slush funds bill—cloture, final passage, all of it—but it just passed. To my constituents, your voice matters. Keep speaking out. So, shoulders up. Keep the faith. We stand strong, and we do NOT stand down.
Democrats didn’t write this bill, but if we did—we would have protected public schools. We'd put veterans first. We would have protected our public lands, your health care, and lifesaving cancer research, for god’s sake! I am voting NO on cloture, final passage—all of it.
Remember: Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the White House. If they refuse to put forward an offer that includes any Democratic input and they don’t get Democratic votes—that’s on Republicans. Americans rightly understand REPUBLICANS have pushed toward a shutdown.
When I cast my vote, I’m representing the nearly 8 million people in Washington state. In this democracy their voices count for something—so you better believe I am not handing over my vote in exchange for nothing. I am voting NO on the House Republicans' slush fund CR.
What Republicans are pushing here is not a continuing resolution. In this case, C-R stands for Complete Resignation. Republicans are ceding more discretion to two billionaires to decide what does and does not, get funded in their states. It is a power grab CR. I will vote NO.
Good morning. I am a firm 100% NO on House Republicans' slush fund CR. I will NOT vote to let Elon and Trump pick winners and losers with your taxpayer dollars. Senators were not elected to beg Trump for federal resources.
It takes no imagination to consider how Trump would use the new authority he'd get from the House GOP slush fund bill to threaten and bully states across the country—you do what he says or he blows up your entire state budget. I will vote NO.
The Trump administration has made painfully clear they are willing to extort people, even lawmakers, to their own ends—and let's be clear, that's exactly what House Republicans' slush fund bill would empower Trump and Elon to do. I will vote NO.
