A clear alternative to the House GOP funding plan is to pass my short-term bill with @delauro.house.gov to prevent a shutdown & finish work on bipartisan funding bills that invest in workers, keep our country safe, & ensure our constituents have a say in how federal funding is spent.
During the worst measles outbreak in DECADES, we ABSOLUTELY must invest funding, time, & energy toward understanding why some Americans are hesitant to get the vaccines they need. We want people to get vaccinated so they don't die. It makes NO sense to eliminate this research.
This unelected billionaire is LYING about Social Security AGAIN. TAKE NOTE: Elon Musk is spreading insane conspiracy theories in plain view so he can go after the Social Security benefits you pay into your entire life. NO cuts to Social Security benefits OR staff!
Elon Musk reiterated his intention to destroy programs like Social Security, which he has called a Ponzi scheme: "Most of the federal spending is entitlements... that’s the big one to eliminate."
We need a Labor Secretary who will stand up for workers and uphold the law. Instead, Chavez-DeRemer is willing to hand our government over to Elon Musk. I have never voted NO for so many nominees in my career, but no other administration has been so brazenly corrupt.
🚨A senior Social Security official is, "seriously concerned that SSA programs will continue to function and operate without disruption.” That's because an unelected billionaire who thinks Social Security is a "Ponzi scheme" is digging around your private data and firing staff.
Musk and DOGE are unilaterally making drastic, arbitrary, and cruel decisions about YOUR taxpayer dollars with NO transparency. That has got to end. Elon Musk must come before Congress for a hearing and be held accountable to the American people.
Great to meet with former @seahawksofficial.com star, Bobby Wagner! When Bobby wasn't making big plays on the field, he was giving back to WA state by supporting financial literacy programs, mental health treatment, & more. I'm grateful young kids have him as a role model on & off the field.
Senator Murray is standing next to a tall man in a suit who has his arm on her shoulder. Both are smiling at the camera. Behind them, there is a fireplace, an American flag, and a door.
Billy Frank Jr. spent his life working to defend Tribal treaty rights and support salmon recovery efforts. I'm grateful for the time I spent with him working to make WA state a better place—and know his legacy will live on today and always.
Speaker Johnson has rolled out a slush fund continuing resolution that would give Donald Trump and Elon Musk more power over federal spending—and more power to pick winners and losers, which threatens families in blue and red states alike. Read my full statement ⬇️
The Public Service Loan Forgiveness program helps people like teachers & firefighters get promised student debt relief for a decade of public service. Trump wants to rob them of debt relief they're owed by law while he demands trillions in tax cuts for billionaires like himself.
Spoke with members from the WA state Alliance of YMCAs about their work to bring communities together. Trump & Musk's reckless cuts put programs like these at risk—but I'll keep fighting back to protect these important investments in our families & communities.
Senator Murray is standing at the head of a large brown table with her hands folded together on the back of a chair. Across both sides of the table, 9 people are seated with their backs to the camera, looking at the Senator.
Being a park ranger was Sam's dream job—and he was great at it. Elon fired him for no reason, anyway. Firing people like Sam means trails will close, overflowing toilets and trash cans at our parks, and longer wait times. Stand up for our park rangers. Save our public lands.
On the heels of the deadliest U.S. plane crash in decades, Elon’s clueless DOGE staffers were trying to fire AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS. Trump and Elon are putting all of our lives at risk through their incompetence. How about we fire Elon instead?
This weekend when you lose an hour of sleep and your families' schedules are off because of Daylight Saving Time, remember that it doesn't have to be this way—and I have a bill that would make DST permanent.
I do not trust for a second that Elon Musk isn't using his immense power as co-president & head of DOGE to tip the scales in his favor when it comes to the BILLIONS in government contracts his businesses receive. And neither should you.
I was told I couldn’t make a difference because I was just a mom in tennis shoes. But there are a LOT of moms and dads in tennis shoes out there. And we will not let ANYONE—not if they are the President or the richest man in the world—put our kids’ futures on the chopping block.
Donald Trump wants to hollow out the Department of Education and DESTROY public education in America. This goes against a very basic principle in this country that we put our kids first & that our future depends on whether our kids get the support they need to grow and thrive.
