Undocumented immigrants convicted of felonies are already subject to deportation. The Laken Riley Act would mandate detention for individuals, including DREAMers and TPS recipients, who have only been accused of crimes, not convicted. It's contrary to everything our justice system stands for.
My thoughts are with the residents of California who are enduring a horrifying disaster. I echo millions of Americans in thanking the first responders who are working day and night to save lives and bring these fires under control.
But we cannot wait until this war ends for humanitarian aid to be widely distributed in Gaza. A peacekeeping force is the only way for this aid to enter and reach the people who desperately need it.

Meta's decision to end fact-checking on their platforms is a clear effort to appease Trump before he takes office. Trump and Republicans have routinely complained about fact-checking on social media because the spread of misinformation usually works to their advantage.
