The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office has found the President’s big, ugly bill takes from hardworking Americans and gives tax breaks to the wealthiest people in our country — people who don’t need the help. This reverse robinhood bill is a bad deal for the American people.
Deeply disturbed by the targeted shootings of Minnesota Senator John Hoffman and State Rep. Melissa Hortman. There is no place for violence in our country. I am following the situation closely. My prayers are with the victims and their families at this time.
Peaceful protest is a cornerstone of our democracy. If you're attending a demonstration today, please follow safety directions from local law enforcement, keep it peaceful, and don’t engage with counter-protestors.
For decades, PBS, NPR and other public broadcasters have brought us the news and enriched the lives of adults and kids alike. Rural Americans especially rely on public broadcast stations for accurate reports in the face of fires, floods, hurricanes, and other natural disasters.
Tomorrow, Americans across our country will gather to remind our president that he isn’t a king. I urge everyone who exercises their free speech tomorrow to do so peacefully and to always listen to instructions from local law enforcement. (1/2)
13 years after the establishment of the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, our communities continue to benefit tremendously from our #DACA recipient neighbors, coworkers, and loved ones. It’s time we deliver permanent legislative protections for DACA recipients and Dreamers.

Today, on #NationalWomenVeteransDay, we recognize the brave women, past and present, who stepped up to serve our nation. Proud to recognize Delphine Metcalf and local women veterans who gathered last week. Thank you for your service!

It is disgusting that the Speaker of the House is trying to blame Senator Padilla for being assaulted by the Department of Homeland Security when he was only doing his job. But I’m not surprised given this is the guy who authored the amicus brief to overturn the lawful 2020 presidential election.
Nine years ago, 49 people were senselessly murdered in a mass shooting at Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Americans should be safe on a night out and everywhere they go. Today, we keep the friends and families of those lost in our hearts and recommit to ending the gun violence epidemic.

Republican tax cuts have added trillions upon trillions of dollars to the national debt this century. It’s sad to see this administration continuing the familiar pattern of only caring about our debt when Democrats are in control.
Nonpartisan experts agree that Congressional Republicans’ big, ugly bill will add trillions to our national debt and rip health care away from 16 million people. Secretary Bessent, why are you hellbent on ignoring the warnings of independent experts?
An abusive partner's access to a firearm makes it five times more likely that a woman will be killed. It’s unconscionable that this Administration is trying to rubber stamp the restoration of gun rights for felons and domestic abusers. This makes victims less safe. 19thnews.org/2025/06/trum...
Our wine community doesn’t just produce $13.3 billion in economic impact and support 46,000 local jobs each year — they also give back. Thank you Napa Valley Vintners for your work to raise $6.5 million for nonprofit organizations serving our community. www.pressdemocrat.com/article/napa...
