I had the best time welcoming Marylanders to Capitol Hill! Hearing from our business leaders, young people, parents, and more helps me better serve Maryland. My most important job as Senator is to fight for Maryland, and I won't ever back down from that challenge.
I am devastated to hear of two Israeli Embassy aides killed last night — a horrific and senseless act of violence. I am praying for their families. We cannot rest until antisemitism is rooted out in this country and across the globe.
I toured Naval Air Station Patuxent River and learned more about the critically important work done there to protect our nation. I was reminded too of my forever gratitude for our servicemembers and civilian defense workforce at home and abroad that serve tirelessly every day.
Today I join the nation in mourning the loss of Congressman Gerry Connolly. Congressman Connolly was a fierce fighter for Virginia, and I was honored to work alongside him in making our DMV region stronger. My prayers are with his family and loved ones.
I love meeting with young Marylanders and hearing directly from them on what issues they care about most. The students I met from the National Youth Summit are advocating for education, the environment, human rights, and more. I am in this fight for them.
We do not want Elon Musk accessing our financial information? These unqualified "DOGE" employees have gone too far – and we are SICK OF IT. Americans are entitled to their privacy, and I intend to keep it that way.
NEW: Senate Democrats are introducing a new bill today -- the DOGE BROS Act -- that drastically increases the punishments on people who meddle in sensitive government data without authorization. Come for the story, stay for the acronym. www.huffpost.com/entry/democr...
Honored to speak at the National Council of Churches legislative breakfast. My faith is intertwined with my responsibilities as Senator. I know people are hurting right now. If there’s ever a time when our love must drown out the other noise, it’s now.
Praying for the family and loved ones of Lt. Mark Dranbauer and Charles Mudra - both brave Maryland firefighters who lost their lives. We can never repay them for their service to our state and unwavering commitment to keeping our Baltimore community safe.
