It was an absolute honor and privilege to join tens of thousands of my Sorors of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. from across the nation for our 57th National Convention! In this current climate, our foundation of social action is so critical. We persist with fortitude.
The Trump Administration must keep the Economic Development Administration open. Full stop. The work the EDA does is absolutely critical: assisting during natural disasters, creating tens of thousands of jobs, and attracting billions in private investment.
Measles cases are on the rise. Meanwhile, RFK is firing CDC’s vaccine advisory committee and saying the MMR vaccine contains “aborted fetus debris” and “DNA particles.” RFK must resign. NOW.
The United States has recorded its highest annual measles cases in 33 years. The milestone marks a public health reversal in defeating a highly contagious, vaccine-preventable disease as the anti-vaccine movement gains strength.
My heart is with the people of South-central Texas. For the family, friends, and loved ones of those who lost their lives - I am praying for your healing and strength. Thank you to the brave first responders who are working around the clock to save lives.
Happy Fourth of July Maryland! Today, we continue the fight: safeguarding our freedoms, upholding justice, and defending our democracy. Our nation was built by the people, for the people - and we will make sure it stays that way.
Republicans have jammed through a cruel and callous bill that will rip health care and food assistance away from millions of Americans. All so Donald Trump can give massive tax breaks to his billionaire donors. It’s a gutting betrayal of working class Americans.
I just forced Republicans to take what should be a simple vote: Save health care for millions of Americans OR Give tax breaks to people making over $10 million a year Can you guess which one they chose? We won't let them forget it.
Republicans say this bill will help working class and poor people. Time for them to prove it. I’m headed to the floor to try and force a vote that would prevent tax breaks for Americans who make more than $10 million/yr.
You can’t cut Medicaid without harming our most vulnerable. The people who don’t have a voice. The people I’m here to speak for. I’ll be on the Senate floor all day, doing everything in my power to fight this heartless bill.
I’m holding the Senate floor at MIDNIGHT. We’re doing everything we can to fight this big bad bill that: ➡️Cuts $900B from Medicaid ➡️Raises grocery costs for 40M Americans ➡️Increases the debt by $4T The American people will pay the price for Republicans’ callousness.
