We should stay in DC to fight for these reforms now – not leave town. Therefore, I am voting against this package.
The bills we are considering tonight make not a single one of these changes, and I have no confidence the Trump administration will participate in good faith negotiations to make these changes over the next two weeks.
In addition, DHS needs new leadership, a complete overhaul of its operations, and clear, enforceable limits on its use of force.
