As the new dean of the Oregon delegation, I will do all I can to build relationships across the aisle to pass legislation that improves the lives of Oregonians. I understand that the people of NW Oregon need progress regardless of which party is in power.

I continue to urge labor and management to come back to the table and work toward an agreement that will avert an unprecedented and open-ended strike.
In December I urged Providence & the Oregon Nurses Association to come together in good faith and negotiate a fair contract that provides competitive wages & safe staffing levels so nurses & other frontline health care workers can provide the high-quality patient care Oregonians deserve & expect.
Nurses, doctors, and clinical staff keep our health care system running. 🧵
Representing NW Oregon in Congress is an honor and I’m grateful for the opportunity to continue working for Oregonians in our nation’s Capitol. Today is the beginning of the 119th Congress—let’s get to work.

Student loan borrowers: I’m holding a webinar on Jan 10 with experts Mike Pierce (@millennialdebt.bsky.social) and Oregon Student Loan Ombuds Lane Thompson to help borrowers understand their repayment options and rights under federal law.
The Inflation Reduction Act includes a $2000 annual cap on prescription drug costs for seniors on Medicare, and it's now in effect. Millions will save an average of $400 each year, putting more money in their pockets. In Congress I will continue to work to lower costs for Oregonians and Americans.
Too bad for the Oregon Ducks today, but they should be proud of earning the Big Ten championship. Thanks for an exciting season, Ducks!
Happy New Year from Team Bonamici! We wish you good health and joy in this new year.
I will continue building on this legislation and I’ll do everything I can to prevent our hard-earned progress from being rolled back under the next administration.
The Inflation Reduction Act is the largest climate investment in U.S. history, and the law is also lowering drug costs for seniors on Medicare and making our tax system more effective and efficient.
After years of talking about infrastructure, in 2021 Congress passed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law (BIL) to invest in a safer transportation system, replace dangerous lead pipes, expand affordable broadband, rehabilitate critical ecosystems, and more.
As this year comes to a close and we prepare for a new presidential administration and Congress, I have been reflecting on what we’ve accomplished during the Biden-Harris administration.

President Carter led with compassion and empathy, and his commitment to advancing the welfare of people everywhere earned him a Nobel Peace Prize and established a legacy that will continue to inspire generations to come.
I send my sincere condolences to President Carter’s family and friends.
Post-presidency, he continued his humanitarian work in the United States and around the globe.
During his time in the White House, he established the Department of Education, put solar panels on the White House roof, and made meaningful progress in foreign policy.
President Jimmy Carter lived a long life of exemplary service. Coming from humble beginnings, he served as a farmer, a Lieutenant in the US Navy, a Governor, and President of the United States.
