Republicans' billionaire welfare strikes again at the cost of the greatest health care loss in history. Tax cuts for the billionaires on the backs of babies, veterans, seniors and every day working people.
This Democratic Daily Download exposes how Trump’s Big Ugly Bill rips health care from 16 million, slashes food aid, strips people of their legal right to a fair hearing—and still adds to the national debt. @chuygarcia.house.gov cuts through the noise to share what’s really happening.
@chuygarcia.house.gov explains how Trump’s Big, Ugly Bill strips 16 million people of their health care, guts essential nutrition programs and pours billions into Trump’s mass deportation machine. Democrats are fighting to protect working families, uphold due process and stop this harmful bill.
🌙 I honor the arrival of the First of Muharram. Wishing all who observe the Islamic New Year a peaceful and blessed one. As the new year 1447 AH begins, may it bring reflection, renewal, and hope to communities across our nation and the world.
Today’s Democratic Daily Download comes at a timely moment—just as SCOTUS allows states to cut Medicaid funding from Planned Parenthood, threatening access to cancer screenings, birth control, and more. My colleague @ayannapressley.bsky.social shares how the One Big Ugly bill adds fuel to the fire.
Three years after SCOTUS rolled back abortion rights, young women today have fewer rights than their mothers and grandmothers. @pressley.house.gov talks about Republican attacks on reproductive freedom and Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill exacerbating the devastating consequences of the Dobbs decision.
@housedemocrats.bsky.social Democratic Daily Download is our latest way to cut through the noise and share what’s really happening in Washington. Listen as my colleague @menendez.house.gov breaks down what’s buried in the One Big Ugly Bill.
🚨 Hidden in this disastrous bill: Republicans want to block states from passing ANY AI laws—for a DECADE. On today’s Democrat Daily Download, @menendez.house.gov sounds the alarm on why this move is dangerous—and how House Democrats are pushing back.
Twelve years ago today, SCOTUS gutted key provisions of the Voting Rights Act in Shelby County v. Holder, unleashing a wave of discriminatory voter suppression tactics. I'm fighting to restore access to the ballot box with the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and Freedom to Vote Act.
When one partner controls all the finances, it can trap the other in an abusive relationship. I introduced the bipartisan Financial Empowerment and Protection Act for equal access to financial and household accounts and safer survivor exits. #SurvivorJustice Read here for more👉: bit.ly/43ZzH4n
Today marks three years since #SCOTUS overturned #RoevWade, stripping away a constitutional right. As attacks on reproductive health care grow, I’m proud to stand with @reprocaucus.bsky.social and Rep. Chu to support the Women’s Health Protection Act and restore reproductive freedom.
On Juneteenth, we celebrate a milestone in our nation’s history. It is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and a reminder that the journey toward justice, equity, and true freedom must be intentional and steadfast.
Today, as we remember the Charleston Nine ten years later, I continue to stand with my colleague in the fight to pass the Enhanced Background Checks Act. It’s time for commonsense gun reforms that will save lives.
Over 6 years ago, the House first passed my Enhanced Background Checks Act to close the Charleston Loophole that allowed a white supremacist to obtain the gun he used to murder nine worshipers at Emanuel AME Church on June 17, 2015.   I'll never stop fighting to pass this law.
The U.S. Army secured our independence, defends our freedom and protects our nation. As we honor all who serve, we uplift Black heroes too often left out of the story — like Salem Poor, Peter Salem & James Armistead Lafayette, who served in the Continental Army where it all began.
Your Social Security data belongs to YOU — not DOGE, not political appointees, not Elon Musk. SCOTUS greenlit access but House Democrats are fighting back with the Protecting Americans’ Social Security Data Act to safeguard your privacy and hold violators accountable.
Big win in committee! @ushousefsc.bsky.social passed my bill to help small and rural financial institutions team up with big banks for training, tools, and support to get Financial Agent to Treasury status—so they can more effectively serve their communities.
Housing is a human right. That’s why Rep. Shontel Brown and I introduced a resolution calling for urgent federal action to expand affordable housing, strengthen rental assistance, and protect tenants. Because every family deserves a safe, affordable place to call home.
Each June, I wear orange to honor survivors, remember lives lost, and stand with those working to end gun violence. Thank you, @mcbath.house.gov, for your courageous leadership. We must keep fighting to end this national epidemic. #WearOrange
