Thank you to all the students and parents who have joined my office’s Service Academy Information Nights!
If a government shutdown happens, it will be because they chose political theater over the health, safety, and security of the American people. My Democratic colleagues and I will never be complicit in that failure.

With Republicans controlling the House, Senate, and White House, any government shutdown will fall squarely on their shoulders.
I could not support a continuing resolution that jeopardizes the well-being of millions of Americans. This CR does nothing to lower costs, expand care, or strengthen our health system.
It allows Trump and Kennedy to continue dismantling our health care system by ending life-saving research, including for children battling cancer, and weakening essential public health infrastructure, from disease prevention programs to vaccine distribution.
Today’s partisan resolution fails to fix the health care crisis of their own making.
House Republicans have once again failed to negotiate a bipartisan agreement that puts the needs of the American people first. Democrats have been clear that we would support a bipartisan spending plan that strengthens health care, invests in public health, and helps families make ends meet.
From Pam Bondi, who recently called for prosecuting Americans' free speech, to FCC Chair Carr, who is using his position to censor the media, we must call out and stop all efforts to move us towards authoritarianism.
Freedom of speech and freedom of the press are essential pillars of our democracy. We cannot allow Trump officials to undermine those freedoms.

Today, I joined @padilla.senate.gov, @schiff.senate.gov, and my House colleagues to re-introduce my Redistricting Reform Act.
It’s time to put an end to Trump’s gerrymandering war and establish independent redistricting nationwide.

@juliabrownley.house.gov emphasized the importance of protecting women’s rights from Republican attacks during our press conference earlier this month: “I am appalled and disgusted by the Trump Administration's cruel and reckless effort to roll back abortion protections for our women veterans."
This is your chance to showcase your creativity, sharpen your skills, and help shape the future of technology. #Congress4CS

🚨Attention high school students! My office is hosting a virtual Service Academy Information Night tomorrow at 5:30 PM. This is a great opportunity to learn more about the five service academies and the Congressional nomination process.
Together, we will continue to fight for the care, the dignity, and the recognition our veterans have earned.
Last week, I was deeply honored to receive WWP’s Legislator of the Year Award. This recognition serves as a powerful reminder that we must never lose sight of the brave men and women who have worn our nation’s uniform.
