Every American should be outraged by this dangerous abuse of power and Trump’s blatant disregard for the Constitution and the rule of law.

President Trump is actively threatening the foundations of our democracy by calling for the arrest of a sitting governor simply because he disagrees with him.
Those who continue to enable him by refusing to hold him accountable are complicit, and they too will be judged by the clear eye of history.
His decision to turn the National Guard on the American people to suppress protests sparked by his own inhumanity is just the latest chapter in a long, shameful record of hateful and indefensible actions.
President Trump has once again shown that he values theatrics, cruelty, and the use of force over the Constitution, the rule of law, and basic human decency.
I stand with David Huerta and SEIU California. I stand with the rights of all Americans to peacefully protest. And I stand with the fair and humane treatment of our immigrant community.
No agency is above the law. ICE must be held accountable for actions that violate the Constitution and erode public trust in law enforcement.
ICE’s escalating raids and reckless tactics are purposefully cruel and almost certainly illegal. By executing warrants in ways that cause fear, trauma, and even physical harm, ICE is violating our Fourth Amendment protections and First Amendment rights.

Trump’s one, big ugly bill will hurt every American — Republican or Democrat. These aren’t just numbers, these are people’s lives. On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @reptroycarter.bsky.social breaks down how it will hurt Louisiana and all Americans.
I join a grateful nation in honoring the American servicemembers who answered the call. Their sacrifices remain a powerful testament to the enduring strength of American patriotism, courage, and resilience.
Words alone cannot express our nation’s gratitude to the brave servicemembers who took part in Operation Overlord. Their courage and sacrifice helped turn the tide of the war and set the Allied Forces on a decisive path to victory – all in the name of freedom and democracy.
Today marks the 81st anniversary of D-Day, the launch of the Allied landings on the beaches of Normandy that changed the course of World War II and laid the foundation for the defeat of fascism and tyranny.

Last week, I confronted masked ICE agents as they detained non-criminal, non-violent men and women after routine court appearances.
What I witnessed is not immigration enforcement. It’s a fear campaign targeting people abiding by the law to meet quotas of deportations.
This is not who we are.

Tomorrow, on Wednesday, June 4, my office will be hosting a virtual information night for students in California's 26th Congressional District to learn more about attending a U.S. Service Academy and the Congressional nomination process. Parents are welcome to attend too!
Every year, I have the privilege of nominating students to represent our district at one of the five prestigious service academies in the nation.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, @repbeatty.bsky.social breaks down Trump’s One Big Ugly Bill — a nightmare ripping food and care from millions. House Republicans pushed it through while you were sleeping because they don’t want you to know what’s in it.

On today’s Democratic Daily Download, Rep. Josh Harder explains how devastating Medicaid cuts in the Republican tax bill will be for families and communities across America. That’s why Democrats are fighting back with all we’ve got.
