I would like both Israel and Iran to de-escalate the current conflict. But ultimately, there will be no stability in the Middle East, which requires a secure Israel, hope for the Palestinian people, and a denuclearized Iran, without diplomacy and U.S. engagement.
In the United States of America, we have no kings. Yesterday, I marched alongside more than 12,000 people across #VenturaCounty in united opposition to Donald Trump and the dangerous, reckless policies of his administration that threaten our democracy.
Today, we celebrate all the fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and father figures who shape our lives. My father played an instrumental role in shaping who I am today, and I’m forever grateful for the love, support, and strength that fathers like him provide every day. Happy Father’s Day!
I am heartbroken to hear about the shootings that took place overnight in Minnesota. There is no place for politically motivated violence in our nation. This was a horrific and unacceptable targeting of elected officials in Minnesota’s state legislature.
He has also threatened to use “heavy force” against Americans exercising their First Amendment rights to peacefully protest this spectacle. Protests are happening across the country because people recognize this for what it is.
Trump claims to support the military, but his actions tell a different story. He has pushed policies that limit access to critical care and benefits for our nation’s veterans, and he treats our service members more like political props than the heroes they are.
Trump is clearly provoking conflict to justify authoritarian control, to punish states like California for standing up and speaking out against his cruelty, and to distract from his ‘One Big Ugly Bill’ that would strip 16 million Americans of their health care.
