The Trump Administration’s attempt to freeze all federal aid was a direct attack on hardworking Americans. While it’s my understanding that some of the most sweeping and harmful efforts have been halted for now, the fight is far from over.
Transgender people have always been part of the fabric of this nation, serving with honor and dedication. It’s time we support them, not strip away their rights to serve openly and proudly.
Meanwhile, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, whose service has been clouded by allegations of excessive drinking, abuse, and assault, is spearheading this extreme anti-LGBTQ agenda.
What’s even more appalling is the hypocrisy behind it. Trump, whose "patriotism" encompasses pardoning 1,500 insurrectionists including violent offenders who assaulted police officers on January 6th, dares to question the patriotism of those who have served honorably in the military.
It’s not just an attack on the bravery and patriotism of transgender individuals who proudly serve – it’s an outright insult to the countless transgender servicemembers who have risked their lives defending our country.
Trump's executive order banning transgender servicemembers from openly serving in the military is an absolute disgrace.
Our communities depend on these funds to improve infrastructure, create jobs, and build a sustainable future. It’s time for the administration to be clear and accountable.
Read the letter here:
In the letter, we call on the Trump Administration to provide a transparent list of the frozen initiatives to avoid costly delays and disruptions.
The vague language in the executive order has left many uncertain about which projects are at risk, creating unnecessary anxiety for local governments, businesses, and workers.
These laws are essential for critical infrastructure projects like road construction, bridge repairs, broadband expansion, and replacing lead pipes – projects already underway in communities across the country.
I joined 153 of my Democratic colleagues in sending a letter to the Trump Administration demanding clarity on the executive order that could freeze funding from the Inflation Reduction Act and the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law.
Americans are facing real hardships, but these lawmakers are more concerned with luxury at a Trump property than doing their jobs. When it comes to working for the American people, House Republicans are nowhere to be found.
Instead of addressing the unknown and devastating impacts of this freeze – leaving workers, families, and vital services in a state of uncertainty – they’re busy lining the pockets of the #GrifterInChief.
While millions of Americans have been tossed into chaos brought on by Trump’s executive order freezing federal funding, House Republicans are off playing golf at a Trump resort in Doral, Florida.
This blatant disregard for our veterans is immoral, and Trump's actions are a direct contradiction to our nation's values.
The White House list of programs paused by Trump's unconstitutional executive order is deeply concerning. Among the many programs impacted by the federal funding freeze are critical veterans' services – from housing assistance to education and job training to veterans treatment courts.
These federal resources support every one of us, from the roads we drive on to the services our families depend on. This poorly conceived action is unacceptable, and I’m committed to fighting back. We must ensure these resources stay intact to keep our communities working for all of us.
This unprecedented and unconstitutional action will hurt families already struggling to make ends meet and could lead to significant job losses in the construction industry, non-profit sector, and beyond.
This reckless decision halts critical funding for our schools, law enforcement and public safety agencies, essential food assistance programs, infrastructure improvements for roads, bridges, and public transit, job training initiatives, and vital services for seniors and people with disabilities.
