Yesterday, I was joined by Mayor Peggy Lemons of #Paramount and Mother’s Nutritional Center to oppose funding cuts to food assistance and to let our community know that @housedemocrats.bsky.social will keep fighting so our communities don’t go hungry.
In natural disasters & emergencies, alerts save lives—but they’re not accessible to the millions whose first language isn’t English. I led a letter with current & former Tri-Caucus leaders and top Senate Telecomm Democrat @lujan.senate.gov, urging the FCC Chair to implement multilingual alerts now.
5 years ago, our system failed George Floyd. His murder reminds us we must fight for a world where Black & Brown Americans don’t fear encounters with law enforcement. It is imperative we push for criminal justice/law enforcement reforms that center de-escalation, accountability, & racial justice.
