This week, I had the opportunity to meet with the Southwestern Illinois Metro and Regional Planning Committee. We discussed local economic growth and how we can continue to grow jobs and opportunities throughout Southwestern Illinois.
I am honored to be appointed co-chair of a new Energy Affordability Working Group alongside @levin.house.gov focused on making energy affordable for working families. High utility bills and gas prices aren't inevitable — and I’m ready to get to work.
Head Start educators show up every day for our youngest learners — they deserve good pay and benefits in return. That’s why I co-led a letter with 27 of my colleagues urging Head Start programs to safeguard educator compensation. These workers set our children on a bright future.
This week, I convened a Postal Service Caucus roundtable to discuss solutions Congress can implement to improve mail delivery for the American people. Thanks to the stakeholders who joined the conversation—we look forward to continuing our work to strengthen USPS in the months ahead.
June is Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month. Millions of families are navigating this disease right now — and millions more are doing it as unpaid caregivers. We owe it to them to keep fighting for research, resources, and support.
Planned Parenthood is on the front lines of protecting women’s healthcare. I was glad to sit with them to talk about how we can work together to ensure our communities can access the vital services they provide – like cancer screenings, birth control, and family planning.
When I came to Congress, I made a promise to make sure that IL-13 receives its fair share of federal resources and put that money to work for real people. Here's what getting things done actually looks like. Read More Here: budzinski.house.gov/bringing-hom...
Illinois farmers applied for Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grants in good faith and they deserve to be reimbursed. I’ll keep asking questions until we get the answers they deserve.
Good news for veterans in Champaign County — a new VA clinic opened this week in Champaign. The VA Illiana Healthcare System, in partnership with Carle Health, is now seeing patients — that means local vets no longer have to make the drive to Danville for primary care.
Rural Americans shouldn’t have to settle for second-class mail service. As Co-Chair of the Postal Service Caucus, I’ll keep pushing until our small towns get the same reliability big cities do.
ICYMI: I questioned the Postal Regulatory Commission on rural mail service this week. Rural communities deserve the same reliable delivery as everyone else — full stop. The conversation was productive, but we're not done pushing until we get real results. youtu.be/RJc8mrZ6Fb8?...
Last week, I had the chance to question Secretary Rollins. Farmers and rural communities are counting on real answers — and I'm going to keep demanding real action.
Today, we reflect on the past 82 years since D-Day. We remember & honor the lives we lost during World War II. We will always remember their bravery and willingness to serve.
Earlier this week, Democrats and four House Republicans voted to stand up to the President and end this war in Iran. I was proud to take a stance for the American people as we work to rein in this war of choice.
Spent the morning with some of the sharpest kids around for NABTU’s Kids in the Trades day here on Capitol Hill. We talked about our favorite book — Click, Clack, Moo that says, “When you work together, you can accomplish anything.” I couldn’t agree more!
Beltsville Agricultural Research Center (BARC) has served this country for generations – but now it’s at risk of closing. I joined @ivey.house.gov and AFGE to make sure their message was heard loud and clear during today’s Ag Hearing — closing BARC is shortsighted, and we're pushing back.
Yesterday, I met with some of our community's most important workers – members of the ATU Local 1249! We talked about the importance of protecting the safety of transit workers on the job, ensuring that public transit is funded, and protecting workers' rights to organize.
