USW Local 7-1 workers have done everything right. BP is the one standing in the way.
It’s time to end this lockout, get back to the bargaining table, and negotiate a fair deal that respects the workers who keep the Whiting refinery running.

Today, I spoke at the 29th Congressional Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Expo about how high power bills are weighing folks down. As the co-lead of a new working group focused on gas and utility affordability, it’s clear the American people need immediate relief and we’re going to deliver.
When policies put working people first – everyone wins.
It was great meeting with the machinists from the East Metro Local 660 yesterday. We talked about the cost of living in the Metro East, including health care, as well as the importance of passing key labor bills like the Faster Labor Contracts Act and the PRO Act.
I was proud to stand with Rep. Mrvan and members of the USW to demand BP do right by USW Local 7-1. It’s past time they end the lockout and deliver the agreement these workers have earned.
Trade deals should work for workers — not just corporations. That’s why I joined the BlueGreen Alliance to push for a USMCA renegotiation that prioritizes American manufacturing, fair labor standards, and a cleaner planet for the next generation.

Last night, Republicans blocked 11 amendments offered by New Dem Members to the Energy & Water appropriations bill from being considered.
These would've provided concrete steps towards addressing energy affordability.
Statement from New Dem Vice Chair for Policy @budzinski.house.gov.
Yesterday, I spent a great morning at the SEEC Solutions Summit — moderating a discussion on the future of agriculture and joining a permitting reform panel. If Congress wants to be serious about innovation and environmental stewardship, forums like this are how we get the policy right.
Today marks four years since Roe v. Wade was overturned. Let’s be clear: reproductive care is health care. As a member of the @reprocaucus.bsky.social, I will continue fighting for access to reproductive health care without barriers and shame.
Fewer than half of Americans say they can afford healthcare. That's millions of families skipping doctors visits, rationing prescriptions, and hoping nothing goes wrong. This is why Democrats are fighting to reverse Medicaid cuts and reinstate the ACA tax credits.

This latest investment builds on that progress and reinforces Central Illinois' role as a national leader in feeding and fueling America.

Since taking office, I've been proud to work closely with ADM to bring new investment and opportunity to our district, helping the company and its workers continue to grow and succeed.
Col. Gregory Watson, a Central Illinois native, was one of the victims of the tragic crash Edwards Air Force Base earlier this month. I am forever grateful for his service to our country and I’m keeping his loved ones in my thoughts through this difficult time.

Polymarket paid creators to film fake bets. That’s deception – plain and simple. Online prediction market platforms need real accountability and transparency. It’s why I introduced legislation like the PREDICT Act which will.

As we approach the fourth anniversary of the Dobbs decision, one thing is clear — the fight isn't over. Every person deserves access to the reproductive healthcare they need without barriers and without shame.
This is great news for Downtown Champaign. Phase 2 of the Neil Street Plaza starts in August — bringing a fountain, small business kiosks, a public lawn, and safer pedestrian access to the heart of downtown. Proud to see this investment coming to life for our community.

82 years ago today when the GI Bill was signed into law, it was a commitment to men and women in uniform. It opened the doors of higher education and homeownership to an entire generation of veterans. That's what it looks like when a country keeps its promise to the people who served.
Severe weather doesn't wait — and neither should your preparedness plan.
Wishing a happy Father's Day to all the father figures in our community — the ones who lead by example, show up when it's hard, and love without conditions.
As the aunt of a child with Down syndrome, I feel this one personally. Children like my nephew deserve better.
