ICE descended upon immigrant communities in LA, targeting innocent people just trying to live their lives, and when ICE was met with fierce opposition Trump deployed the National Guard. This is not “going after criminals,” it’s a scary escalation meant to sow even more fear and division.
President Trump took extraordinary action on Saturday by deploying 2,000 National Guard troops to quell immigration protesters in California, making rare use of federal powers and bypassing the authority of the state’s governor, Gavin Newsom.
Kilmar was mistakenly deported. The Trump admin admitted it. And yet he was locked up in El Salvador for over 11 weeks. Relieved to hear that he is back in the U.S. Today: A win for democracy. Tomorrow: we keep up the fight.
It’s indisputable that death is imminent for hundreds of thousands in Gaza and the level of starvation for children is catastrophic. The United States may not remain complicit in the face of the unimaginable suffering and dire need for aid and supplies.
NEW: With @raskin.house.gov, @keating.house.gov, @foushee.house.gov, and @balint.house.gov, I’m leading 92 members in urging the administration to ensure the immediate delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza. Innocent civilian lives can be saved. jayapal.house.gov/2025/06/04/j...
The Republican budget that is now in the Senate's hand’s is actually worse than we thought. 16 million people would lose their health care. Just so billionaires can pay a little less taxes. The Senate must do everything it can to stop this bill.
Trump's budget defunds Medicaid, food assistance, the NIH, the CDC, and the National Cancer Institute. As the irrepressibly cheerful Joni Ernst reminded us, that's okay, we're all going to die. Yeah, and the Trump administration is speeding it up.
Fantastic news. Rents have gone up nearly 30%, and predatory tech companies are colluding with landlords to illegally hike rent and take advantage of working people. Congress should pass my bill that bans this scam nationwide.
RealPage and over a dozen of DC's largest landlords acted as a housing cartel. They used RealPage pricing software to illegally collude and push rents even higher. This settlement is the first step in unraveling a scheme that inflated housing costs for thousands of DC renters.
I’m a proud member of the bipartisan Mental Health Caucus in Congress. This is a huge crisis affecting every family all over the country, especially for young people. Remember, facing mental health challenges doesn't make you weak, it makes you human. Asking for help is brave!
Reminder that cuts to Medicaid don't just impact people on Medicaid. If you live in a rural area, your hospital could close. If you get your insurance through the Marketplace, rates are going up as a result. Or you could get kicked off. This is going to create severe hardship for a lot of families.
Trump's FTC just gave up on a rock-solid case of illegal price discrimination. He said he would lower the cost of groceries but the FTC just surrendered, handing a gift to PepsiCo, Walmart & other giants. Small, independent businesses will continue to suffer while corporate donors get a pardon.
FTC drops case against Pepsi alleging price discrimination reut.rs/4my4qgc
Adriana Smith's family is living a nightmare. They cannot grieve the loss of Adriana because Georgia's extreme abortion ban is forcing her to stay on ventilators against the family's will. This decision should be made by her family, not Republican politicians in Georgia.
On Memorial Day, we honor the brave Americans who paid the ultimate price to protect our nation. The courage and dedication of our servicemembers in Vermont and across the country demands our highest respect and commitment to the values they fought to defend.
All of these people are willing to give up any values, morals, or backbone they had because Trump is making them even richer. Beyond corrupt.
Duffy is the second cabinet secretary to have sold stock at an opportune time. Last week, ProPublica reported that U.S. AG Pam Bondi sold between $1 million and $5 million worth of shares of Trump Media on “Liberation Day.”
