It was an honor to speak with Oregon veterans during their Honor Flight and to thank them for their service to our country. It is because of them that we stand here today with the freedoms that have become fundamental to who we are as a nation.
Republicans control the House, the Senate, and the Presidency. It’s on them to prevent a shutdown. We need a budget that reverses Republicans’ cuts to healthcare – today’s vote didn’t do that. I won’t support a bill that fails to deliver for Oregonians, so I voted no on the CR.
If Republicans aren’t willing to reverse cuts to health care and education and lower costs, I won’t vote for their CR.
The Central Oregon Disability Support Network helps over 4,000 of our rural families of children with disabilities get the support they need.  The Trump administration is taking that support away. I won’t stand for it – I’m demanding the funding be restored.
Far too many Oregonians live in food deserts without access to healthy options. My new bill would provide funding for staff, equipment, and food at food pharmacies across CD5 to help close these gaps in our communities. Learn more ⬇️
Moms in rural Oregon already face long travel times to receive care from an OB-GYN, and Republicans’ Medicaid cuts are making it worse. We shouldn't be making it harder for expecting moms to get the care they need. www.opb.org/article/2025...
I met with Dr. Daniels, Director of the Oregon Department of Veterans' Affairs, to discuss how staffing shortages at the federal level are impacting veterans in CD5. They deserve better than long wait times & decreased access to services. I'm fighting to get them the care they've earned & deserve.
When families are picking up the pieces after a wildfire, they don’t need Uncle Sam taking a cut of their relief. My bipartisan bill makes sure wildfire survivors aren’t taxed on the funds they are relying on to rebuild their lives and homes. Learn more ⬇️
Oregon, today is National Voter Registration Day! Every voice matters, and every vote counts – be sure that when the time comes, you’re ready to use yours. You can check your registration or register to vote here: sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages...
I’ve had dozens of constituents write in to tell me they’ve been turned away when trying to get vaccines. RFK Jr is spewing nonsense, ignoring science, and putting our communities at risk. It has to stop.
On Friday, the President claimed that “we have almost no inflation anymore.” That’s just not true.  In fact, last month, inflation was the highest it’s been since January. Oregonians can’t afford his chaotic policies. We need lower prices now.  www.cnn.com/2025/09/12/b...
Last weekend, we wrapped up the Give ‘Em Hell tour out in Silverton. Thank you to every single one of you who took time out of your day to join me and share your stories.  I’ll be hosting more soon, so stay tuned!
Credit unions go the extra mile to help their members get what they need and to support their local community. I was glad to speak with members of the America’s Credit Union Caucus, and to thank them for stepping up where others don’t.
This week, I joined a discussion about how we can work together to increase access to childcare. We can’t make our families choose between quality care for their children and putting food on the table. Our kids – and parents – deserve better.
The Trump administration’s cuts to funding for children’s disability programs in rural Oregon are going to leave thousands without support they’ve relied on for years. Our kids deserve so much better. Thats why I’m demanding the funding is restored. www.opb.org/article/2025...
