The countdown is on to avoid a government shutdown – Republicans have until September 30 to get their act together and keep the government open.
Ball’s in your court, Mr. Speaker.

The House is back in session, and we’ve got some new decor outside our office.
I grew up in DC, so Trump’s takeover of this city is personal – and deeply unsettling – to me. Proud to be repping the capital here in my office.
Last week, I hosted a roundtable to hear about the obstacles small businesses are facing and how I can help.
I'll continue pushing for the support our rural economies need and deserve.
We can’t afford to have our prices keep rising – where are the lower costs Republicans promised us?
Now is not the time to make life harder on our firefighters. Yet the President is cutting their funding and pulling them off the frontlines to conduct immigration enforcement.
Give me a break.
I've had the opportunity to hear from so many across CD5 this month – nurses, labor leaders, educators, local and statewide officials, law enforcement, firefighters, & small business owners.
Thank you to everyone who shared their stories – I'm taking them with me back to DC to fight for you.
Republicans sent us home for the district work period celebrating their trash budget, which rips healthcare away from millions of Americans.
I’m returning to DC ready to fight back against those harmful cuts and work on legislation to do what I came here to do – make life better for Oregonians.
Wishing students, teachers, counselors, and administrators all across CD5 a wonderful back to school season! 🎒✏️
In Congress, I'll continue to fight to make sure our kids and educators have what they need to succeed.
A thank you message to all of our incredible workers in CD5 – Happy Labor Day!
Unified Sports partners with schools to create opportunities for students with disabilities to play sports.
Check out this incredible article by a student journalist to learn more about our star student athletes at West Linn High School.

Investments in clean energy don’t just lower costs for our communities, they also create good-paying jobs in CD5.
Threats to federal funding will mean higher costs and more layoffs – we can’t afford that.
Oregon wouldn't be Oregon without our rural small businesses – they create jobs and make our communities stronger.
Yesterday, I teamed up with the @newdemcoalition.bsky.social and @salinas.house.gov in Silverton for a discussion on how we can best support our rural entrepreneurs.

Yesterday, New Dems @salinas.house.gov & @bynum.house.gov teamed up in Silverton, OR for the ninth stop of our New Dems On The Road Tour!
Grateful to the local government officials, nonprofit groups, & business leaders for a roundtable on how Congress can support rural economic development.

I'm glad to hear it'll be empty soon, but it's just a first step. It needs to close for good.

"Alligator Alcatraz" should have never opened in the first place. It's unsafe, uninhabitable, and a violation of human rights.
That's why I led my colleagues to demand DHS and ICE shut it down.
🚨Town Hall Update 🚨
My in-person town hall in Silverton is being rescheduled from this Saturday, August 30, to 12:00PM next Saturday, September 6 at Silverton Middle School.
I look forward to seeing you at the last stop of the Give 'Em Hell Tour!

My heart breaks for the students, teachers, and families in Minneapolis today. It's long past time we actually DO SOMETHING about this. As I get ready to head back to DC next week, we better be voting on bills to keep our kids and communities safe.
As our kids are getting ready to start up the new school year, they should feel excited to see their friends again, motivated for their new classes, even nervous for the challenges of a new year – they should NOT be feeling fear.
(2/2): If you or someone you know needs support during this difficult time, please call or text the Disaster Distress Helpline at 1 (800) 985-5990.
My office is also ready and able to assist with questions about federal resources – give us a call at (503) 387-8651.
