NeighborImpact served an average of 83,000 people per month this year. Due to funding cuts, they’re now receiving 17% less food, and are not able to offer meat in their meals. I led a letter demanding an end to the freeze, so they can continue to help families put food on the table."
As the daughter of two educators, I'm so excited to wish all the teachers out there a happy #TeacherAppreciationWeek. Your hard work behind the scenes and in the classroom does not go unnoticed. Know you are loved.
When it comes to helping people start new businesses, we should be encouraging growth, not putting up red tape they have to cut through.  My bipartisan ELEVATE Act removes barriers for small businesses and helps them hit the ground running.
It’s #NationalSmallBusinessWeek, and I’ve visited some pretty fire places in the district this month 🔥 Aina Kauai Grill 🍽️ 10/10 Fresco & Fryed 🥙 10/10 Mount Angel Sausage Co 🌭 10/10 Leave your recs below!
This administration lacks a significant amount of critical thinking. Throwing sh*t at the wall and seeing what sticks is not gonna fly when it’s Americans' well-being on the line.
Spoke with a fantastic group of business leaders from the Portland Metro Chamber last night! It was a great discussion about how we can work together to boost community development and economic growth in our region and improve quality of life for all Oregonians.
In CD5, Habitat for Humanity and AmeriCorps have partnered to construct affordable housing units in Bend. I went to the site to meet with staff and hear about the great work they're doing, and how that work to address the housing crisis is being impacted by federal funding cuts.
Instead of lowering costs, investing in infrastructure, or improving access to healthcare, Speaker Johnson is working overtime to line the pockets of billionaires, and Oregonians are paying the price. I’ve had enough.
Oregon, I hear you – and I’m with you in the fight against the Trump administration. Thank you, AG Dan Rayfield, for hosting this important town hall. Showing up and engaging in these conversations is how we push back and fight for the country we all deserve.
We packed a lot in this weekend in Bend – a town hall, site visits, and lunch at a small business! Now, back to DC to hold Speaker Johnson accountable for failing to put legislation on the floor to lower costs and make life better for Oregonians.
Got questions about how we’re challenging Trump in the courts? Come by my legal town hall with AG Dan Rayfield tomorrow morning! I look forward to seeing you there.
Last week, AG Dan Rayfield sued the Trump admin over tariffs impacting our state. This Saturday, I’ll be joining him at the OSU Cascades Campus for a town hall. Join us for a conversation about our work to lower costs and stand up for Oregonians.
When I came to Congress, one of my top priorities was tacking the affordability crisis. The GOP majority controls which bills come to the floor and so far, Speaker Johnson has not brought a single bill to the floor to lower the cost of living.
It has been 119 days of the 119th Congress, and I’ve yet to have the chance to vote on a bill that lowers costs for Oregonians. So I wrote to him, with the support of 31 other new members – we're fed up.
