One year into this administration, the cost of living is up and the quality of life is down.
The president promised to lower prices, but Republicans let ACA tax credits expire, driving premiums higher, putting care out of reach for patients, and placing even more pressure on providers like KC CARE.

Today, I visited KC CARE Health Center—because this is where policy meets real life.
Even as our health care system faces increased strain due to Republican cuts, community health centers like KC CARE continue finding innovative ways to show up for our communities every day.
Last year, President Trump & Republicans in Congress enacted the largest cuts to Medicaid and SNAP in history to lavish tax cuts on the wealthiest 1% and explode the budget of ICE.
It’s led to chaos in our streets and skyrocketing health care costs for American families.

Over 600,000 individuals are released from prisons each year.
Our bill would provide $60 million to expand library resources and services to support the education and skills training of incarcerated Americans, helping to better prepare them for reintegration into society.
By making strategic investments in rehabilitation, we can reduce recidivism, strengthen public safety, and curtail the growing costs of our correctional system.
That’s why I introduced the Prison Libraries Act with Reps. Brown and Foushee.

Thankful that @repilhan.bsky.social is safe and doing okay following the attack on her while she was speaking to constituents.
Political violence has absolutely no place in America.
I hope that every elected official will strongly condemn such despicable violence against Rep. Omar.
As the president’s policies drive up costs and crush American small businesses, it’s no wonder why people are so pessimistic about the economy.
Republicans in Congress should work with Democrats to extend ACA tax credits, revoke tariffs, and lower costs for hardworking families.
Millions of Americans, including tens of thousands in #MO05, are seeing their monthly health care premiums skyrocket because Republicans in Congress refuse to extend ACA tax credits.
At a time when families are struggling to stay afloat, the GOP should put partisanship aside and provide relief.
The administration is using taxpayer funding to undermine our civil liberties, kill American citizens, and then smear their memories with blatant lies.
Congress has an obligation to rein in this extreme, reckless, and dangerous agency before more damage is done.

On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we honor and mourn the six million Jewish people who were murdered during the Holocaust.
Today and every day, let us stand up against the evil of antisemitism to ensure the horrors of the Holocaust are never repeated. #NeverAgain
As the president’s tariff taxes increase costs on businesses and consumers, they are killing good-paying manufacturing jobs and driving away investments in our communities.
Republicans must help put an end to these reckless trade policies.

Following the killing of another American citizen, Republicans in Congress would rather shut the government down than put guardrails on the administration’s extreme, reckless, and dangerous mass deportation agenda.
It’s deeply irresponsible.

The American people deserve transparency and justice.
Anything less is unacceptable.

And as the administration labels another citizen killed by federal agents as a “terrorist” before any investigation can occur, it’s important that Congress and state officials conduct thorough and independent investigations to ensure accountability for this killing.
Justice must be served.
It is beyond clear that the administration and DHS officials are completely out of control, sowing chaos in our communities and endangering our fellow citizens.
It is past time for Congress to rein them in before more tragedies occur.
My heart breaks for another family that must bear the horrific pain that comes with losing a loved one.
How many more Americans must die at the hands of federal agents before Republicans in Congress will put an end to the administration’s reckless, lawless, and dangerous immigration agenda?
If the administration moves forward with these plans, it would be akin to a death sentence for many of these individuals.
It would be morally reprehensible and should be stopped immediately.
Exclusive: ICE plans to deport 40 Iranians days after mass killings of thousands of protesters in Iran. Two of the deportees are gay & terrified of returning to a country where homosexuality is punishable by death, their lawyer says. w/

The top 1% now hold nearly as much wealth as the bottom 90% of Americans.
But instead of ensuring the ultra-wealthy pay their fair share, Republicans slashed taxes for the rich while gutting nutrition and health care programs that support the most vulnerable.

As dangerously cold temperatures arrive in #MO05, please be careful and look out for your neighbors.
