Cancer is a vicious disease that impacts Americans in every community and from every background.
The Administration’s effort to dismantle the nation’s infrastructure to research, treat, and ultimately cure cancer is extraordinarily shortsighted and deeply regrettable.
Withdrawing from the War on Cancer: an extraordinarily successful scientific research system that took decades to build, saved millions of lives and generated billions of dollars in profits is being dismantled in short order. @jonathanmahler.bsky.social www.nytimes.com/2025/09/14/m...
All Americans should agree that political violence is completely unacceptable in the United States, and our political leaders have a responsibility to turn down the temperature.
We must listen to our better angels and not our worst demons.
The vast majority of Americans are sick of the nonstop division & hate that is driving our communities apart.
But instead of working to unite the country by condemning political violence in all forms, the admin is lying & stoking the flames of anger.
It’s extremely dangerous & deeply cynical.
“Virtually all major grocery categories are now more expensive than they were a year ago, some substantially so.”
The president said he would lower costs for hardworking families.
Instead, his tariff taxes are exacerbating our cost-of-living crisis.

Coffee. Beef. Prescription Drugs.
They’re all getting more expensive thanks to the president’s tariff taxes.

“Since President Trump imposed tariffs on Chinese goods in February, Beijing has retaliated by halting all purchases of American soybeans.
That decision has had devastating repercussions for farmers”

As inflation soars due to the president’s reckless tariff taxes, Republicans in Congress are refusing to extend tax credits that help working families afford their health insurance premiums.
I won’t stop fighting to provide relief to these families.

Last week, Missouri Republicans attempted the latest power grab by enacting a mid-decade gerrymander
But this fight is far from over
Together, in the courts and in the streets, we will continue pushing to ensure this unconstitutional effort is defeated

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month!
All month long, let us celebrate the rich and vibrant culture of our Hispanic communities across #MO05, honoring their legacy and recognizing their invaluable contributions to our history and society.
I’m deeply disappointed that Missouri’s Legislature put the wishes of Washington above the voices of their own constituents and the needs of our communities.
But this fight is far from over.
My full statement here:
At every opportunity to turn the temperature down and bring the country together, the president instead chooses to dial it up and divide the nation.
It’s deeply disappointing and extremely dangerous.
Political violence must be condemned universally.
This is real leadership.
Political violence is an attack on all of us, and we all must come together to condemn it whenever it rears its ugly, despicable head.

A few quick charts. First, the big picture: Overall consumer prices were up 2.9 percent from a year earlier. Over the past three months, prices have risen at a 3.5 percent annual rate.

U.S. consumer prices rose 0.4 percent in August and were up 2.9 percent from a year earlier. "Core" prices, excluding food and energy, rose 0.3 percent from a month earlier and 3.1 percent year-over-year. #NumbersDay

The president’s extreme mass deportation policies are eroding the civil liberties of American citizens.
We must continue to call out and push back against these dangerous policies that are leading to Americans being unlawfully detained.
President Trump and House Republicans promised to lower the high cost of living.
But the Trump Tariffs and the Big Ugly Bill are making life even more expensive while causing unemployment to rise to the highest level in years.
President Trump promised he would lower prices on “Day One”.
Instead, his reckless and chaotic tariff taxes continue to drive up prices at a time when families are already struggling to stay afloat.
Americans deserve better.
Missourians are against mid-decade redistricting.
The labor community is against mid-decade redistricting.
The business community is against mid-decade redistricting.
The faith community is against mid-decade redistricting.

Today marks the 24th anniversary of the September 11 terror attacks, the deadliest terrorist attack on American soil.
As we pause to honor the 2,977 lives lost, let us also remember the courageous first responders, the survivors, and the families whose lives were forever changed.

Gun violence in America is completely out of control.
What will it take for our leaders to come together and enact policies that will address this crisis, save lives, and keep our communities safe?
As we pray for the victims, let us also ACT.
The time is now.
