"Rather than focusing on lowering essentials like groceries, housing, & healthcare, President Trump has instigated a reckless trade war—and the American people will pay the price”

That’s why I teamed up with @repdangoldman.bsky.social and several other lawmakers to introduce an amendment that would remove the shortsighted decision to defund America’s public broadcasting.
We’ll keep fighting to protect NPR and PBS for the people!

This week, Republicans in the House are holding a vote to defund PBS and NPR.
I don’t know a single person who voted to kill Big Bird and Elmo—but I do know many Missourians who rely on these platforms for educational programs and public information in times of crisis.
Dreamers work in key industries, raise families, contribute to our economy, and help our country thrive.
For 13 years, DACA has been a lifeline for millions of American families—and I’ll keep fighting to protect the program until we can deliver permanent legislative protections. #HomeIsHere
No working class student should have their dreams ripped away from them to fund more tax cuts for billionaires like Donald Trump.
But that’s exactly what Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill would do. It’s shameful.
www.cnbc.com/2025/06/08/w...
The latest analysis shows that Republicans’ Big Ugly Bill would actually RAISE taxes on the poorest Americans to fund more tax breaks for those in the top 5%.
And that doesn’t even account for the healthcare and food assistance that will be ripped away from these families.
It’s sinful.
As Republicans in Congress fight to slash funding for food assistance programs that keep food on the tables of working class families, the president’s tariff taxes are raising the cost of canned goods.
It’s going to be disastrous for the American people.

We are witnessing the creeping militarization of civilian law enforcement and the deputizing of federal agents as local law enforcement.
Together, We must stand united in defending civil liberties, due process, and human rights.
As we push back against the president’s efforts to create more chaos and crack down on public dissent, I’m proud to stand with the Congressional Black Caucus, @hispaniccaucus.bsky.social, and @capac.house.gov.
We’ll continue to stand with peaceful protestors and fight for the rights of the people.
The President is calling for the arrest of a Governor for simply opposing the president’s unlawful power grab.
It’s dangerous, without merit, and just another way to distract from his attempt to enact the largest redistribution of wealth from working class families to the wealthiest 1% in history.
The president is only creating more danger by unnecessarily sending armed forces to Los Angeles—and he’s wasting the time and resources of our men and women in uniform while doing it.
The Congress and the courts must put an end to this nonsense before it escalates into a crisis.
PBS doesn’t just ensure Big Bird and Elmo can entertain and educate America’s children; it also provides vital information to the public in times of crisis.
That’s why I’m fighting to protect public broadcasting like PBS and NPR from Republican cuts.

Job Corps helps young Americans obtain apprenticeships and learn valuable skills that support lifelong careers in key industries.
That’s why I joined hundreds of lawmakers in calling for the Trump administration to restore funding.

The president is once again attempting to enact travel bans that are clearly aimed at specific ethnicities and religions around the world.
It’s divisive, un-American, and should be condemned by those who believe in equal treatment under the law.
Protestors must remain peaceful AND law enforcement has a responsibility to prevent unnecessary escalation.
Unfortunately, the Trump admin is intentionally pouring fuel on the fire to create more chaos that will enable President Trump to crack down on political opposition.
It’s extremely dangerous
“Millions of Obamacare enrollees would lose health coverage under the Republicans’ major policy bill, which would make coverage more expensive and harder to obtain.”
All to fund more tax cuts for billionaires like Donald Trump.
Shameful.

My bipartisan bill would require the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to testify before Congress on an annual basis, strengthening transparency and ensuring HUD is accountable to the people.

Whether a Republican or Democratic administration, it is imperative that the people’s representatives have the ability to provide oversight of the Executive Branch on behalf of the public, which includes bringing Cabinet officials before Congress.
That’s why I introduced the HUD Accountability Act.
Wishing a blessed Eid al-Adha to all who are celebrating in #MO05 and around the world!
Eid Mubarak!
81 years ago, the brave heroes of D-Day stormed the beaches of Normandy to liberate Europe from the iron grip of fascism, changing the course of history.
As we recognize their sacrifice, let us honor their legacy today by upholding the values they fought for decades ago.
