ICE killed another person yesterday, not even a full week since they killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo. This is the 11th fatal shooting by ICE since Trump took office. Joan Sebastian Guerrero was only 26-years-old. His three-year-old daughter was in the back seat of the car when her father was shot.
DHS secretary now says man fatally shot by federal agents in Maine was not the target of an ICE operation, according to Sen. Angus King. https://cnn.it/4wM3OI9
This weekend I visited Octavia’s Bookshelf, Pasadena’s first Black-owned bookstore, to honor the legacy and contributions of Butler to the literary world. She is an inspiration to all aspiring writers and young women in Pasadena and across the entire country.
As we close out on our country's 250th birthday celebrations, I also want to celebrate a notable Woman in History, Pasadena's own Octavia Butler.
95% of Americans say our country is facing an affordability crisis—and they're right. Yet instead of lowering costs, Trump has resumed his illegal war in Iran—driving energy prices higher and making everyday life even more expensive for working families.
Today, as we celebrate and honor this milestone, let us recommit to defending these constitutional principles and protecting our democracy.
Last week, the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s efforts to undermine these constitutional rights & reaffirmed birthright citizenship continues to be the law of the land.
158 years ago, the 14th Amendment was ratified, guaranteeing citizenship to every person born or naturalized in the United States and ensuring all citizens equal protection under the law.
The best submissions will be posted on my platforms, and the picture with the most votes (likes) by July 20 will be declared the winner and will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. office.
Trump's ICE has already taken lives and twisted the truth to evade responsibility and push their anti-immigrant agenda. We need an independent investigation into Lorenzo’s death. His family deserves answers. We deserve transparency and accountability.
Ronaldo Salgado relayed his panicked search for his father Lorenzo Salgado Araujo as he joined local legislators in calling on authorities to conduct a full and transparent investigation into the Araujo's killing by ICE.
This is completely unconstitutional, and it's causing prices to rise even more as Americans continue to struggle with the rising costs of groceries, housing, and gas. Americans want an end to this war, not to continue paying the price for it.
The LA Fires cost an estimated $275 billion in economic damage, displaced 100,000 people, and took 31 lives, including 19 in the Eaton Fire. But Trump continues to delay and deny emergency aid. ALL disaster survivors should get the relief they deserve.
Today, I joined @normajtorres.bsky.social, @repbradsherman.bsky.social, @lofgren.house.gov and the CA Delegation in sending a letter to congressional leadership, urging them to hold on a supplemental funding package until California communities receive long overdue federal disaster assistance.
I was thrilled to present Shrey Parikh, from Rancho Cucamonga, a Certificate of Congressional Recognition for his incredible win at the 2026 Scripps National Spelling Bee! At only 14 years old, he secured the title after correctly spelling 32 words in a spell-off. Amazing! Congratulations Shrey!
TPP grants are proven to save lives and improve outcomes for our nation's youth, and Congress funded them on a strong bipartisan basis. That's why @kellymorrisonmn.bsky.social and I led 73 of our colleagues in a letter demanding U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reinstate these funds.
