Recently, the Trump Administration cancelled 80% of active Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program (TPP) grants, which help women and girls across the country with evidence-based programs that reduce teen pregnancy, STIs, and other health risks.
This past weekend, I was honored to celebrate July 4th all across the SGV, at parades and celebrations in San Gabriel, Sierra Madre, South Pasadena, Claremont, and San Marino. I hope everyone had a fun and safe Independence Day!
Wishing everyone in the San Gabriel Valley a safe and happy Independence Day! Today, as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our nation’s founding, let us recommit to strengthening our democracy and advancing the promise of liberty, equality, and opportunity for all.
As we prepare to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday, the price of many Fourth of July BBQ staples are now 20% more expensive than last year. Because of Trump's affordability crisis, for millions of Americans, honoring our nation's birthday is becoming a financial burden.
Trump’s Big Ugly Bill is putting new limits on access to Pell Grants, capping how much students can borrow, eliminating Grad PLUS loans altogether, and forcing new and existing borrowers into more expensive repayment plans.
As of July 1st, the U.S. Department of Education is rolling out changes to federal student loans that will make college and loan repayment even more unaffordable.

#OTD in 1964, President Lyndon Johnson signed the #CivilRightsAct into law. The CRA is an incredible shield against discrimination, including for the LGBTQI+ community. As we celebrate 62yrs since its signing, we recommit ourselves to the fight against bigotry & discrimination.

The best submissions will be posted on my platforms, and the picture with the most votes (likes) by July 20 will be declared the winner.
I'm excited to announce the return of my #BestOfCA28 Photo Competition! Show us what you love most about the San Gabriel Valley, and the winning photo will be displayed in my Washington, D.C. office. To participate, upload your submission to tinyurl.com/BestofCA28 by July 15.
Today, Republicans are celebrating one year since Trump’s Big Ugly Bill gutted $1 TRILLION from our health care system, ripping coverage away from 15 million Americans. In our district alone, over 39,000 people will lose their coverage and another 66,000 will see their health care costs go up.
Republicans are moving in the opposite direction—slashing Medicaid, allowing Affordable Care Act costs to rise, and weakening the health care system millions of Americans, including many Medicare beneficiaries, rely on.
For 60 years, Medicare has been a lifeline for seniors and people with disabilities. Democrats strengthened that promise by finally empowering Medicare to negotiate lower prescription drug prices and take on Big Pharma.
Supporting disaster survivors should not be a partisan issue, and I will continue to fight for survivors in my district and nationwide to receive the aid they need & deserve.
This was an important step. But Trump continues to withhold supplemental aid, delaying relief and recovery for our community & survivors.
Happy National Postal Workers Day! Today, we celebrate the more than 500,000 dedicated postal workers who work tirelessly to deliver the mail that keeps millions of Americans connected every day. From essential packages to vote by mail ballots, we thank you for your service.
