I was proud to join survivors and our community at Monterey Park's first-ever Resiliency Day. Together we will continue to heal and fight to end gun violence once and for all.

Three years ago, my hometown of Monterey Park endured the deadliest mass shooting in Los Angeles County history. But in the face of unfathomable tragedy, I have witnessed extraordinary strength and unity in our journey toward healing.

Yesterday, I spoke before the Rules Committee to oppose H.R. 6945, a bill that does nothing to lower costs or support families. Instead, it funds deception, undermines real health care, and advances Republicans’ push for total control over women's private health care decisions.

This violent attack occurred in the midst of Lunar New Year celebrations, a time meant for joy, togetherness and peace. Instead, we were left with unimaginable loss. And yet, our community stands together with resilience, compassion, and strength. Together, we will continue to heal.

The lives of 11 of our loved ones were taken. They were parents and grandparents, wives and husbands, neighbors and friends. They each made profound impacts on their families and communities, and their absence is still felt today.

Trump spent the weekend threatening our treaty allies with a military invasion to seize Greenland because he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize. This talk of invading Greenland is absurd and embarrassing. Congress needs to put a stop to this now.
