But after Trump and Republicans slashed nearly $1 TRILLION from Medicaid, centers like these are being asked to do even more with less. That’s why I’m fighting in Congress to reverse these cuts, restore the ACA premium tax credits, and make sure every Californian gets the health care they need.
At community health centers like the Chinatown Service Center everyone can get high-quality, affordable care, regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay.
Small businesses are the ones shouldering Trump’s reckless tariffs, not foreign governments. Owners are cutting margins, raising prices, and dipping into personal savings just to stay open. It’s obvious: Trump’s economic agenda is hurting, not helping Californian businesses.
Vaccines have protected generations of children from deadly diseases like measles and polio. Now Trump wants to make it harder for parents to get their children that same protection.
Congress has voted TWICE to end this reckless and costly war. Americans are struggling daily to afford the basics, and Trump wants another $73 billion to keep his war going. He doesn’t need another blank check. He needs to end this war now.
This morning, I joined @cnn.com to discuss Trump’s continued failure to negotiate an end to the illegal war with Iran that he started.
I’m thrilled the Senate passed the bipartisan Federal Disaster Tax Relief Certainty Act to get this done. President Trump must sign it into law NOW.
For more than a year, I’ve been fighting to ensure Eaton Fire survivors aren’t taxed on the settlement payments they need to rebuild, including by introducing my own legislation to provide this relief.
This week, I celebrated National Night Out across the SGV to recognize the first responders who keeps our communities safe! I was proud to have secured more than $7.4 million in community project funding this past year to strengthen resources for police and fire departments across our district.
The numbers are in: Trump’s reckless tariffs and illegal war in Iran are continuing to weaken our economy. 23,000 U.S. jobs were lost in July, unemployment is up, and Americans are still struggling with sky-high prices at the grocery store and gas pump. www.nytimes.com/live/2026/08...
Congratulations to Manon Iwata for receiving the Congressional Award Gold Medal and making #CA28 proud! Manon and her twin sister Kanon founded their own nonprofit, Teens 4 Disarmament & Nonproliferation, to educate teenagers on the consequences of nuclear weapons.

Generations of leaders have fought to secure the right to vote. As we look back on the 61-year legacy of the Voting Rights Act, we are reminded that the struggle continues. Our democracy is only as strong as our right to vote, and @usprogressives.bsky.social will never stop fighting to protect it.
No family should have to choose between putting food on the table, seeing a doctor, or protecting their future in America. When families are forced to go without basic needs, our communities and our economy are worse off.
Today, @hirono.senate.gov and I introduced the Protect American Values Act to defund Trump’s “public charge” rule, which punishes legally eligible immigrants for accessing basic services like health care, nutrition assistance, and housing support.
Congress must pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act to restore the Voting Rights Act's full promise and protect every American’s right to vote.
