General Richard E. Cavazos was a military hero — the first Hispanic four-star general who represents the best of Texas. President Trump should do the right thing and continue to honor General Cavazos’ extraordinary service to our country and keep the base named after him.
#BREAKING: #TRUMP says he wants to restore #FortHood name at Central Texas Army post.
These ongoing arrests are an ugly bait and switch that punish folks for following the rules. This is discouraging other people from following the law and showing up for their court hearings. It’s so wrong and we need to hold the authorities accountable. www.kens5.com/article/news...
This action is escalatory and authoritarian. The Trump administration continues to take any opportunity to sow chaos, diminish the rule of law, and undermine our constitutional rights.
“For the federal government to take over the California National Guard... to put down protests is truly chilling,” said Erwin Chemerinsky, one of the nation’s leading constitutional law scholars. “It is using the military domestically to stop dissent.”

ICE arrested former Afghan Nat'l Army soldier—our ally against Taliban—at his home in TX. He entered legally and atty says he has no criminal record. Was applying for asylum. Appears to be casualty of Trump decision de-documenting legal Afghan immigrants www.houstonpublicmedia.org/articles/new...

San Antonio! The 2025 Congressional App Challenge has launched! Middle and high school students are invited to submit original apps for a chance to win the annual challenge. The first-place winner will be flown out to D.C. for a special reception.
This CBO score shows how grim the impacts of the Republican budget bill will be: $2.4 trillion will be added to the debt, 16 million Americans will lose access to healthcare, and costs for hardworking families will only continue to skyrocket.
Texans have made it clear where they stand on this. AG Paxton must fully defend the laws of our state. This is a disappointing action from an administration that doesn't care about anyone but billionaires.
This lawsuit is meritless, cruel, and vindictive. Republicans in Texas created this program in 2001 to establish parity so all tax-paying folks, regardless of status, can receive the benefits they are owed. www.texastribune.org/2025/06/04/t...
Today, I urged Secretary Hegseth to establish Joint Base San Antonio as the headquarters for the proposed consolidated Western Hemisphere command. Our city is essential to our national security.
Happy Pride month y’all! As a nation, we’ve made big strides to protect LGBTQIA+ folks. Let’s not turn back the clock now. This month is about celebrating you—and uplifting your stories and experiences. I stand with you! 🏳️‍🌈
