This year, you all helped me successfully nominate three pieces by Latino artists—Vicente Fernández’s “El Rey,” Freddy Fender’s “Before the Next Teardrop Falls,” and Lin Manuel-Miranda’s original cast recording of “Hamilton.”
Every year the Library of Congress inducts 25 song titles into the National Recording Registry, one of the highest honors a musician can receive.
I am thrilled to share that three of the songs you helped me nominate were selected by the Library of Congress to be inducted into the prestigious National Recording Registry this year. Let’s celebrate the three iconic Latino music giants—Vicente Fernández, Freddy Fender, and Lin Manuel-Miranda!
Three: everyone should be concerned about the privacy implications here. This sets the precedent that the federal government can arbitrarily share your personal information with law enforcement. And it's just wrong.

The Administration cannot continue to abuse its power and ignore direct orders from federal judges. Kilmar Abrego Garcia must be brought back home tonight. The world is watching.

Calling all high school artists of #TX20! My office is accepting submissions for the 2025 Congressional Art Competition until April 18th.
The winner will have their art displayed in the U.S. Capitol for one year. I look forward to seeing all the talent San Antonio has to offer!
An incredible example of what grit looks like. In the past 24+ hours, @SenBooker spoke to the experiences of countless Americans in a voice so clear and so true. Thank you for your courage and your leadership during these times.
But they are refusing to take responsibility for this grave error and bring Mr. Garcia back home to the United States, where his wife and child are. They must do so now.
The Trump Administration admitted it made a mistake deporting Kilmar Abrego Garcia to El Salvador, even though he had protected status in the United States and had no criminal record.
I had a great time hearing from you all at Saturday’s town hall with Rep. Fischer and Mayor Nirenberg.
Every time we gather, I am reminded of the power of unity and how much we can achieve when we work together.
Thank you all for coming out.
I will support lawsuits, vote to block his funding, and support his removal.
Who the hell thinks it’s a good idea to stop trying to prevent HIV and infectious diseases?
I have never heard a single constituent - Democrat or Republican - ask for this level of crazy shit.
These guys are going to get many Americans killed.
President Trump is trying to destroy unions, who have been the driving force for protecting workers’ rights for over a century.
We need to continue to fight back and fight for hardworking folks who serve the American public. They should not be under attack and this order cannot stand.
