The ascension of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., a longtime anti-vaccine activist, to the nation’s top health post has alarmed medical experts, who point to his history of conspiracy theories.
Here are 10 false health claims Kennedy has made over the years:

We can’t address the challenges that our hemisphere faces without tackling gun trafficking. The United States saw a huge increase in gun exports due to Trump-era policies. If Republicans are serious at all about real solutions to immigration, they need to start with reversing that tide.
Last year, I introduced the ARMAS Act – a comprehensive bill to disrupt the trafficking from the United States that contributes to violence and forced migration abroad.
In most of these countries, American gun trafficking is the main enabler of gun violence. When cartels and criminal gangs want weapons, they turn to the United States.
Over the years, I’ve met dozens of leaders from Latin America and the Caribbean who plead with the United States to stop the flow of guns into their countries. Caribbean countries accounted for 6 of the world’s 10 highest murder rates – and in Haiti especially, conditions are rapidly deteriorating.
73% – nearly three-quarters – of guns recovered from Caribbean countries can be traced back to the United States, mostly from gun stores in states like Texas, Georgia, and Florida.

Today – after more than a year of investigating – the nonpartisan GAO released a report that I commissioned into the devastating impact of U.S. gun trafficking in the Caribbean.

I'm saddened to learn about Jorge Cortez's passing. Jorge was a lively and much-admired part of La Familia Cortez, and his passion for art and culture was at the heart of San Antonio's Zona Cultural.
His family restaurant, Mi Tierra, is a beloved institution that will forever carry on his legacy.
Dozens of teams from colleges and universities across the country competed this weekend in cyber defense exercises, and UTSA showed off the cyber skills that have earned San Antonio our title as Cyber City USA.
Congratulations to UTSA on their third place finish at the 2024 Department of Energy's CyberForce Competition!

Two years ago I was diagnosed with neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), an increasingly common but often misdiagnosed cancer. Today on World NET Cancer Day, I’m thankful for all those dedicated to researching and raising awareness of this rare disease.

For nearly a decade, Jaime's Place has hosted an annual "You Are Not Forgotten" Luncheon to thank San Antonio veterans and their families.
During this year's event, I was grateful for the chance to recognize the service of neighbors who risked their lives for our country.
