Remember, Kristi Noem did not drive the brutality and abuses we’re seeing across the country on her own. We have to keep pushing for accountability and transparency at every level of this lawless administration, including Stephen Miller and Donald Trump.
@democrats.senate.gov made a reasonable proposal: let's fund FEMA, the Coast Guard, TSA, and other essential agencies while we work on negotiations for ICE and CBP reforms. Senate Republicans could have passed this funding with us today, but they chose to block it instead. Unbelievable.
BREAKING: I tried to pass a bill to pay TSA agents and fund FEMA as Democrats push for common sense reforms to protect Americans from being killed by untrained and masked DHS agents. Guess what? Republicans BLOCKED it.
Yesterday, Kristi Noem's testimony reaffirmed what we knew from the very beginning: she is unfit to be Secretary of Homeland Security and she should resign immediately. Both Democrats and Republicans can clearly see she has failed the American people.
Kash Patel fired FBI agents last week who were experts on counterespionage against Iran because of their role investigating cases against Donald Trump. These agents should be on the job, especially now. Why is Patel risking American lives to make Trump feel better?
Kristi Noem is so out of touch, she can’t even explain why her department has detained and deported DACA recipients. Americans deserve answers about why this administration is targeting Dreamers who were brought to this country as children.
Sen. DURBIN: Your agency arrested 261 DACA holders last year—and deported 86 of them. Why have you deported dozens of DACA holders? Noem: We follow all laws. Durbin: Why did you deport them? Noem: I don’t know the details.
Inflation isn't just a number. It's families having to make do with less and businesses having to raise their prices to survive. We should be focused on bringing these costs down, cutting taxes for workers, and growing our economy.
Kash Patel needs to rehire these agents immediately and start putting Americans' safety ahead of Trump's feelings or Kash’s own taxpayer-funded vacations. What an unbelievably reckless decision that could put American lives at risk.
