It wasn't enough for Trump and Washington Republicans to go after school lunches. Now they want to dismantle programs for special education, civil rights, and school safety at the Dept of Ed. It's reprehensible that they continue to rip away investments in our kids. www.axios.com/2024/11/13/t...
I am still in DC and I am ready to support a temporary CR as long as Republicans are willing to come to the table and work on a bipartisan funding bill that will benefit CA-31 and the American people. Let’s get this done.
Mark Kelly is an American Hero who has taken an oath to defend our country and constitution as a Naval Aviator, Astronaut and a Senator. What oath as Musk taken? Nothing but a shadow president out to ruin the country for his own benefit. www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...
This week I joined my democratic colleagues to introduce the PRO Act, to ensure workers have the right to form a union and negotiate for better wages and benefits. Meanwhile, Elon and Trump keep showing us that they could care less about American workers. newrepublic.com/post/192409/...
Shadow President Musk and Trump have never served a cause greater than their own pocket books. They have never made the sacrifices our veterans have made to secure a better future for others. Cutting these jobs from the VA will harm our nation's heroes and their families. apnews.com/article/vete...
Sylvester Turner, part of my Freshman class from Houston, passed away last night. He was a good man who dedicated his life to public service as a Texas state legislator and as the Mayor of Houston. He had a good soul and will be missed by his colleagues, family, and friends. Rest in peace.
I spoke out last night because that was 100 mins of B.S. Meanwhile in the real world, the President's tariffs are tanking our economy and making life harder for everyday Americans.
My guest for tonight's SOTU is West Covina City Councilman Ollie Cantos. He served at the U.S. Department of Education, but he was placed on leave due to Elon Musk’s DOGE cuts. I hope his presence reminds Trump and Musk that their contempt for our country’s civil servants is harming American lives.
We need humane comprehensive immigration reform that addresses bad actors, but still upholds our American values and helps bring immigrants who have been living in our country out of the shadows. My office will continue to monitor this situation.
These arrests are sickening, and I have grave concerns with how these arrests were reported to have been carried out by ICE. The 31st District is home to many immigrant families who came to our country wanting to contribute to our communities and local economy.
Team Harder is trying their best but happy to help my fellow Californian. Who knew that Southern California members would figure out tech faster than the Northern California member.
