Gilbert Ray Cisneros Jr. is an American politician and former naval officer serving as the U.S. representative for California's 31st congressional district since 2025. A member of the Democratic Party, he previously served as Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness in the Biden administration and was the U.S. representative for California's 39th congressional district from 2019 to 2021.

(3) Republicans need to get their s**t together. They control the White House, they control Congress. If we have a government shutdown, it falls on them and their inability to govern.
(2) Now, House Republicans are talking about a Continuing Resolution (CR) for the remainder of the year. A year long CR would negatively impact our military capabilities and create economic uncertainty and job insecurity. In short, a year long CR hurts the American people and our economy.
(1) The government funding bills should have been completed last year. But House Republicans made the political decision to punt them into 2025 because they wanted to wait for Trump to move into the White House. Well, they got what they wanted, but still haven't been able to pass any new funding.

The GOP budget makes $880 billion in cuts to vital programs like Medi-Cal, school lunch programs, and funding to fix California roads. And it’s all to pay for a $314K tax cut for billionaires. Elon Musk has already bought the Presidency, but House Republicans decided his payout shouldn’t stop.
Republicans seem to think cutting $880B in Medicaid in their budget proposal is a good idea. Millions of Americans would be affected, including over 280,000 people in the 31st. This isn't a game, and Republicans should stop treating it like one.
