We are indebted to those who gave their lives to protect our country.
I joined the For Country Caucus to honor the sacrifices of our fallen heroes and clean the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall this morning.
As a Navy veteran, I know how special these sacred spaces are for our servicemembers and their families.
There’s no line Trump won’t cross in the name of self-interest. I’m determined to fight his blatant corruption and hold this administration accountable for betraying the American people.
Under Trump’s leadership, the DOJ has turned into his own personal law firm. This week, he announced the creation of a $1.8 billion slush fund to protect his political allies, including the violent rioters and insurrectionists who stormed the Capitol on January 6.
I’m proud that this commonsense legislation passed unanimously out of the House Small Business Committee and I look forward to seeing it on the House floor.
Small business owners are the backbone of our economy, and we must give them the support they need to succeed.
That’s why I co-lead the Protecting Small Business Competitions Act to safeguard small businesses and protect their right to compete for government contracts.
This week, I asked the Air Force Secretary how he plans to replace the California Air National Guard’s aging F-15 fighter jet fleet. I’m proud to advocate for our servicemembers in California and I’m committed to expanding their access to this country’s best modern aircrafts.
Today, I voted no on the abhorrent Republican “Stopping Indoctrination and Protecting Kids Act” meant to ban any discussion of trans people or topics in the classroom and target the wider LGBTQ+ community. I condemn anti-trans hate and bigotry.
I proudly support the trans community and I will always defend their right to live as who they are.
I’m excited to be hosting my next Town Hall on June 15th in La Verne, CA!
As a reminder, please RSVP here if you plan to attend: cisneros.house.gov/town-hall
At yesterday’s House Armed Services Committee hearing, I pressed the Commander of U.S. Africa Command, General Anderson, on why this administration dismantled USAID and how that affects our regional diplomacy. The president is alienating our key allies and leaving a void for our competitors to fill.
I look forward to working with my colleagues in Congress and the Administration to pass this commonsense reform that will increase military readiness. I’m committed to providing our servicemembers and their families with the fair compensation and benefits they’ve earned.
This week, Congressman Bergman and I sent bipartisan letters to President Trump, @deptofwar.bsky.social, and the White House office of Management and Budget, urging them to prioritize duty status reform in budget negotiations for next year.
I am praying for all the impacted families who lost a loved one to this hateful attack.
I am deeply disturbed by the violent, Islamophobic attack at the Islamic Center of San Diego. I join my community in mourning the innocent lives lost in this shooting. No one should be the target of senseless gun violence in their place of worship.
Today, we celebrate 61 years of President Johnson’s groundbreaking National Head Start early education program. Head Start has helped over 40 million children grow, succeed, and contribute to their communities. I will always fight to protect our children’s access to early learning.
If you live in CA-31 and need assistance with a federal agency, we’re here to help!
After years of being denied a green card by USCIS, a resident of La Puente, CA reached out to my office to open casework. My staff worked hard to advocate on her behalf and thanks to their dedication, she got a green card.
Trump's illegal war on Iran has disrupted the U.S. weapon stockpile and could cause a shortage of critical munition. The president’s reckless actions are using up our resources faster than we can replace them. We need to protect our servicemembers and end this unpopular war.
I will always be grateful for my life-changing experience serving in the Navy. Today on Armed Forces Day we recognize and honor our active-duty servicemembers fighting to keep us safe. Thank you for your bravery, courage, and valor.
