On #WorldConservationDay, I joined local leaders at New Haven's Schooner Summer Camp to celebrate our environment & our fight to protect it.
While Republicans work to dismantle climate protections, we stand firm for clean air, clean water, & future generations. 🌿🌊

Something to take the edge off…a reminder of what we’re supposed to stand for.
The last federal minimum wage increase was 16 years ago today.
In the middle of a cost of living crisis, $7.25/hr is simply not enough for our nation’s hard-working families.
My @laborcaucus.house.gov colleagues & I are fighting to #RaiseTheWage for workers everywhere.

The Republicans' Interior Appropriations Bill eliminates environmental protections to give handouts to billionaires.
WATCH @delauro.house.gov expose their reckless cuts that will drive up costs for families, enable corporate polluters, and harm our National Parks. 👇
The Trump administration is gutting $5.5 BILLION in promised funds from public schools across the country.
Connecticut public schools will lose $43 MILLION.
President Trump is eliminating public education, all so billionaires and big corporations can hoard more wealth.

Whose name is on that sack of flour? Whose name is on the door of the clinic? Whose name is on the schoolbook? The United States of America.
It must remain that way.

🚨 BREAKING: GAO rules President Trump illegally withheld Head Start funding.
This administration never cared about the law, and they most certainly never cared about our kids.

While Democrats fight to lower costs & secure our energy independence, Republicans are rushing to satisfy and protect billionaire price gougers & big polluters.
They're making life dirtier, more dangerous, & more expensive.
House Republicans are dismantling American diplomacy, forfeiting American global leadership to China and Russia.
Abandoning our allies and turning our back on the world does not make us strong. It makes us weak. It makes us an unreliable ally and an untrustworthy partner.
All Americans suffer when we abandon our allies and let Russia & China call the shots. By slashing these investments, Republicans are guaranteeing a more dangerous world for everyone.

Underfunding the National Park Service brings uncertainty and unemployment to loyal park employees like Mary’s granddaughter.
It also makes the 332 million annual visits to our national parks more difficult and dangerous.
Our parks, our planet, and our people deserve better.
Republican cuts to water infrastructure will take over $7 million from projects across Connecticut that keep our water safe by removing lead piping & other dangerous chemicals.
Every American should have access to clean water.
Our children deserve the same access to parks, museums, and clean air & water that past generations secured for us.
We're on the verge of LOSING America's natural wonders to yet another round of Republican cuts.

For too long the FDA has allowed corporations to put synthetic & possibly carcinogenic additives in our foods.
“Generally Recognized as Safe” is broken. As a leader on this issue, I’m ready to work with Republicans to fix this loophole – are they?
The GRAS can be greener.

Republicans are building a lawless playground for billionaires and big corporations.
Consumer protection? 🚫
Safeguards for the stock market? 🚫
Tax enforcement? 🚫
The wealthy few do whatever they want and the rest of us fend for ourselves.
The latest round of Republican cuts lets greedy corporations cheat on their taxes, poison consumers, & continue to scam everyday Americans out of their hard-earned money.

This morning, I spoke at the Grimes Center about how the Big Ugly Bill will impact seniors’ healthcare.
Medicaid covers 74% of all CT nursing home residents. The bill slashes Medicaid funding by nearly $1 TRILLION.
Americans deserve better.
