There were already bipartisan negotiations to pass a cryptocurrency bill that would have provided more meaningful guardrails on the industry, but Republicans threw it out.
Why? So President Trump and his crypto allies can profit off their own personal cryptocurrencies.
The American people know what they saw in Minneapolis.
ICE and DHS are terrorizing communities, ripping apart families, and killing Americans.
We must rewrite the DHS bill to address these well-documented abuses. Anything less is a non-starter.
NEWS: Senate Republicans just voted to advance a partisan cryptocurrency bill without meaningful protections and transparency for consumers.
Democrats are ready to avoid a shutdown, but the DHS bill needs serious work. I’m glad that the White House is working with Leader Schumer to avoid a partial government shutdown and rein in ICE’s campaign of terror.
Americans are demanding change to ICE’s conduct—we must deliver for them.
J.D. Vance should focus on repairing the chaos his President has created, not on a Senator who has earned the respect of the Senate for her courage and effectiveness. (3/3)
Senator Duckworth has never backed away from a fight, even with a Vice President. She has fought for and won a seat in the Senate where she fights for veterans, those with disabilities, and the people of our state. (2/3)
I have learned over many years in office that politics ain’t beanbag.
But JD Vance’s attack and insult of my colleague, Tammy Duckworth, is low and beneath the dignity of a Vice President. (1/3)
Donald Trump lost the 2020 presidential election.
He will never admit it.
His cabinet will never admit it.
MAGA will never admit it.
But the American people know it.
Secretary Noem and Stephen Miller are inflicting horrific atrocities on the American people.
Instead of addressing it, the Trump Administration is raiding election offices.
President Trump lost five years ago—and he’s still not over it.
The Flores agreement is the single most effective protection for children in immigration detention.
The Trump Administration is ignoring it, detaining families for months, and denying food, water, and medical care.
Senate Democrats just told the court it must uphold Flores.
My bipartisan Section 702 reform proposal is simple.
Want to search an American’s communications? Get a warrant.
That simple.
Once again, the Trump Administration snubs Congress and fails to appear for testimony.
Total disrespect for the legislative branch.

The Trump Administration didn’t send ANY government officials to testify on Section 702 of FISA today.
They’re already trampling constitutional rights.
FISA expires in three months.
We need answers.
Clearly, the Vice President has nothing better to do than to denigrate a war veteran and U.S. Senator.
Senator Duckworth was demanding answers from Secretary Rubio before this Administration puts more American lives at risk to serve President Trump’s foreign policy whims.
Section 702 of FISA expires in less than three months.
It grew out of a secret warrantless surveillance program under President Bush.
We need reform before we reauthorize.
If the Trump Administration had nothing to hide, they’d investigate Renee Good’s killing.
Once again, the Justice Department is bending to the will of Donald Trump and not to justice.
They’re afraid of the facts—which is why they refuse to investigate.
Open a civil rights investigation. Accountability now.
