Last night, Republicans started a hearing on Trump’s budget bill at 10 PM and today scheduled another meeting for 1 AM Wednesday. If you think you are doing what is right for the American people you don’t consider it in the dead of night.
The TAKE IT DOWN ACT is now law. This is a huge win for women and children across the country. Grateful for my partners in the House and Senate who helped get this bill across the finish line and passed into law.
Took the 6AM flight home from D.C. to make it in time for the launch of WayForward@EMU. Talked to students focusing on traumatic brain injury, many of whom hope to become doctors. This is a great program to help young people realize and work toward career goals.
Stopped by W4 Country’s live broadcast from the Ypsi fire station with Chief Densmore. Spoke to the hosts and danced to the music, and I just love being with the fire fighters. It’s great to be home.
The administration is pushing to redefine "harm," a change that would be disastrous for our beloved species by stripping the Endangered Species Act's ability to safeguard critical habitats.
Redefining "harm" in the Endangered Species Act could undo decades of habitat protection for threatened species. The public has until May 19 to comment on the Trump Administration proposal to exclude habitat destruction from the definition. An ecologist and a law professor explain: buff.ly/Lguz0su
Spoke at the Mother’s Day Time to Teal and Fun Run to raise awareness and funds for ovarian cancer research. Grateful to the Michigan Ovarian Cancer Alliance for their vital work and to everyone who came out to show their support.
