If this all seems confusing and poorly planned, that's because it is. The Trump administration doesn't care about the Americans who will be hurt. To them, that's the cost of doing business to score political points.
Today we shared next steps on the Trenton road grade separation, which will make Downriver safer for those who live, work, and visit by eliminating a rail crossing at a high-traffic intersection.
The Republican funding freeze is an ILLEGAL power grab that will raise costs for working people.

By cutting off funding for housing, health care, and farmers, it will cause rents to increase, make it more expensive to see a doctor, and lead to higher grocery bills.
The Constitution is clear that Trump cannot freeze this funding passed by Congress.

This illegal scheme undermines Congress’s power of the purse and is a blatant attack on our system of checks and balances.

So much for the party of law and order.
Joined the John D. Dingell VA Benefits Fair to ensure veterans know about the benefits they have earned. They have sacrificed so much for our country and we need to honor our promise to take care of them and their families.
This morning I gave my annual Downriver State of the District to the Southern Wayne Country Regional Chamber. We have made progress on many important issues, and we must continue to work together to protect jobs, businesses, natural resources, and our local economy.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we mourn the six million Jewish people and countless others who were murdered in the Holocaust. As we reflect upon this dark chapter in history, we must reaffirm our fight against antisemitism and hatred in all forms.
The GOP Reproductive Health Care Surveillance Act threatens to send doctors and nurses to prison who provide reproductive health care.   GOP to-do list: ❌ Lower costs ✅ Take away people's rights
This is a win for American workers and our auto industry. Last year I called on Stellantis to keep their word, because protecting these jobs is vital not only for workers but also for the strength of our economy.
Let’s ensure these jobs stay right where they belong—in America.
Victory! We just won back thousands of UAW jobs. After months of rallying, marching, and campaigning, Stellantis has agreed to Keep the Promise and invest billions in the U.S. Read the full letter from President Fain and Stellantis Department Director Gotinsky.
Graphic with the words "Victory at Stellantis" and the UAW logo superimposed over a picture of President Fain speaking at a Stellantis rally in Detroit.
Decisions about a woman’s health care belong between her, her doctor, and her faith. PERIOD. On this 52nd anniversary of Roe v. Wade—and 2.5 years since its overturn—I remain firm in supporting a woman's right to privacy and choice.
Today, we remember the great and ongoing legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. We must recommit to standing up for what’s right and continue the fight for justice, equality, and opportunity for all.
I am attending the Inauguration with Democratic leadership Monday. Shopped local today to get the warmest coat, gloves, and hat. Thankful for the nice team at Bivouac Ann Arbor who helped me, now I’m prepared for hell to freeze over.
